Money Can Buy Everything

004: Potential Client

"Do you know how many things a human can do with that measly 10 years?”

Momo replied with a smile, his expression is calm and profound, seemingly unaffected by the ninety years of lifespan he had just given away.

Under the gaze of Reimu, the young Momo began to age rapidly. His hair turned white, his muscles rapidly deteriorated, and his whole body became hunched once again.

Momo now appeared as a frail ninety-year-old man. Struggling to stand, he staggered and seemed on the verge of falling at any moment.

"Listen, Reimu, you're mistaken about my situation."

Momo's voice was hoarse as he said, "You still haven't tapped into your imagination. A good start is half the battle won. Don't underestimate the power of even a single day, let alone ten years."

"Hmph, I'd like to see what you can do. With your current condition, even walking is already a life and death struggle. What can you possibly achieve with that frail and sickly body of yours?"

"There are many things I can do. It depends on whether you dare to try!"

Momo straightened his posture as best as he could, amidst the admiring gazes of passersby who marveled at his strength in old age. He walked towards the edge of the road, reached the sidewalk, and waited for the traffic light to turn green.

A Maserati GT approached from a distance, and the driver, Noboru Suko, seemed to notice the upcoming yellow light and chose to accelerate.

Under normal circumstances, he would easily pass through the pedestrian crossing before the red light.

However, today was destined to be his day of disaster.

An elderly hunchbacked man, seemingly unable to see the traffic lights clearly, suddenly stepped onto the pedestrian crossing when the yellow light lit up.

Noboru Suko was alarmed and quickly stepped on the brakes to slow down, but the appearance of the old man was too sudden. He only managed to reduce his speed as much as possible but still collided with the old man.

"Bang!"

With a loud crash, the old man hit the windshield, cracking it with a large fracture, before falling off the car in agony.

Noboru Suko quickly got out of the car and saw the elderly man, bleeding profusely, lying motionless. It seemed that he was struggling to breathe.

"What are you staring at? Call an ambulance!"

Bystanders rushed over, and Noboru Suko's face turned pale. He finally realized the seriousness of the situation and started dialing the emergency number. Although he knew that the old man was mostly at fault for the accident and he wouldn't have to pay any damages, how could anyone be in a good mood after causing an accident?

However, no one, including the bystanders and Noboru Suko, knew what had happened. Only Reimu, watching from a distance, witnessed everything clearly.

It wasn't Noboru Suko who collided with Momo, but rather Momo himself, surpassing the limits of a ninety-year-old man's speed, jumped onto Noboru Suko's luxury car.

"This behavior... could it be called a staged accident?"

...

Several hours later, Reimu looked disdainfully at the bedridden Momo, full of frustration and unable to express it. She felt overwhelmed and uncomfortable.

"Speak up, why did you do this?"

The elderly Momo discreetly opened his eyes, realizing there was no one else around, and said, "Isn't it obvious? I have no identification or money. I need to find a place to spend the night!"

"So, that's your reason for staging an accident and getting into the hospital? You should have some self-awareness. Now you're a nonagenarian, and your body could give out at any moment. Aren't you afraid of dying?"

"Don't worry, once we're in the hospital, we've won!"

Even though Momo had no money and no identification at the moment, the hospital wouldn't refuse a patient, especially when Noboru Suko, the accompanying driver, voluntarily provided a guarantee. This made Momo feel a slight fondness for the driver he hadn't even met.

As for dealing with the doctors, it was straightforward. Momo's current appearance clearly resembled that of an eighty or ninety-year-old man, and he pretended to be evasive and vague in his responses, leaving the doctors helpless.

Just like that, under the gentle care of the young nurse, Momo swallowed each bite of the carefully prepared lunch.

"Feeding time seems to be quite enjoyable!"

At this moment, Momo naturally ignored Reimu's sarcastic remarks. Instead, he showed a compassionate smile, as if he were looking at his granddaughter. He lovingly stroked the young nurse's hair, creating a sense of familiarity.

If it weren't for her professional duty, she might have even chosen to stay and listen to her grandfather's stories.

"So, what exactly are you planning to do? Don't tell me you're truly tired of living and want to spend the rest of your life in the hospital?"

"Don't be so hasty!"

It was already three o'clock in the afternoon, and many patients were taking walks in the hospital garden.

"Thanks to the blessing of an unknown wealthy person, I'm currently in the largest hospital in Togenkyo. Here, we have the opportunity to interact with many high-ranking officials and dignitaries, and this is our chance."

Reimu was taken aback, finding it hard to believe. She asked, "Are you really prepared for this?"

"Of course!"

Momo got up from the bed, put on the patient gown, took the cane that the kind nurse had prepared for him, and unsteadily made his way out of the ward, heading towards the garden.

"Here, we have the clients we've been dreaming of. And what I possess is exactly what they've been dreaming of."
