Podcast 67 - Patreon Extra

Now the only guest I want to see on the Podcast is Shane from StuffMadeHere. He's a pretty good guest based on the one Podcast I saw him on, haha.

Tindurbox

yeah agreed. the extras being typically 4 episodes behind, i usually forget/dont care about watching them when they finally do release

This isn’t a new thing, I’ve been a Patreon for over a year and it’s always been this way, also he complains every time he has to engineer the simplest thing lol

Levi R

William if anything is probably too busy engineering a way to inflate his janky 30ft amongus costume that he re-stitched together so that the head is super elongated to meet the height requirements. Jokes aside, there's a lot more that goes into conventions that just honestly takes a lot of time to make it good. I wouldn't blame him for having too many things to prioritize and having late patreon uploads. There's still value in working on cool events and they will probably lose more money than however much patreon is making XD

video idea: build a large vaccuum chamber and build a very powerful electron source powered by that 20kv cap bank. Focus the beam at the tungsten. Make your own radiation therapy devices and shoot shit with it

memejeff

This might be a small group but the Patreon makes $60-100k a year and they should value that, William is just too busy complaining and avoiding any possible engineering though

While it is a good joke, I recently spoke with a guy who runs a local car show that hosts about 300 cars and over 2500 guests at our racetrack. I made a very clear point that his net had to be well over $25k just in the cars attending the show, as the cost was about $40 per car, and then you had sponsors who paid for multiple spaces or even whole areas that were 1500+ sqft. And even at that, he said he would not cover half of the expenses for putting on our show. The location has their own snack bar, bathrooms, and staff to help make sure nothing went crazy. There were food trucks who showed up and also easily served 300 people in the peak hours of our one day show. William and everyone else at Opensauce have the same coverage that the facilities offers, but also includes electric and internet connection for all the booths. The permits they have to pull in California must be insane, and insurance for the event.(Especially if they know who William is) I'm super excited to see this be put on, and am sad I won't be able to attend. I'd prefer focus on the Opensauce event than making sure a weekly video is uploaded to a small group.

William wants to run an event but can’t run a Patreon lol

I really like the mental image of a Smash booth in front of a bathroom.

Comd Noive

I'd really love to come and play smash with you but I don't know if I will be able to make the trip. I hope you can make your dream come true lol

Belinda Short

Hey this is William, the guy wanting to run a smash booth. I think the people want smash.

Nah the fact that the patreon drops randomly is what makes it special, the patreon is on a whole other timeline than normal episodes

NLTGA_243

Thank you so much that worked!!

https://www.patreon.com/settings/apps and connect your discord.

When I do that it doesn't say discord it only says audio rss link. Is there somewhere else I can find the link?

Evan

I wish they'd start dropping the patreon extra videos at the same time the correlating main podcast drops on YT... or at least in some kind of predictable way

Red Freckle

Are you not able to find the link on here or on discord? If on here select Membership from the top header. Then scroll down to where it says Discord a select the link within there.

I got patreon a couple weeks ago just for safety third but I still don't have access to the discord. It's not connecting to it
