I gave this spiel already when I posted the sketches last week, but one more time: they're a legendary quartet based on Mimis, fairy-like shadowy spirits from Aboriginal folklore! They were described to me as a mix of the Tapus and Celebi design-wise, each representing an element of the marshlands (Ghost/Ground - muddy bogs, Ghost/Bug - swarming bugs, Ghost/Poison - toxic gases, Ghost/Grass - plantlife)

Mostly meant to convey textures relating to their type! Tree bark with lines and grooves, segmented bug limbs and cicada wings, smooth and dropping mud puddles, and wavy like gas clouds!
