I’ve been feeling down because I lost my PayPal account.
Recently, PayPal blocked my account, and upon reviewing it, I realized they’re now asking for an RFC for my “business” (a registration number to prove it’s a formal business, something I obviously don’t have because I’m just a freelancer). This happened because, many years ago, I had switched my personal account to a business account (back then, it had several benefits and didn’t require any additional information).
Big mistake. I have no way of unlocking my business account, so I created a personal PayPal account. The problem is that, as a new user, I first have to build a history, and PayPal holds any money I receive for 21 days. This sucks.
What I’m going to do is start using Stripe to process payments. I can also continue using PayPal but to a lesser extent (because of the 21-day hold). PayPal has always been very abusive with its fees, but honestly, all international payment platforms are the same. I hope I can eventually remove that 21-day restriction on PayPal and normalize it like it was with my old account.
And well, that’s all for now. Here’s a little sketch.
