This show is absolutely wonderful.

Everything great about this finale is what made me fall in love with the show in the first place. What a lovely finish to such a fantastic season.

Glad to have you along for so long! I appreciate it so much! Thank you for your support and your understanding. Killian fans truly ate with this finale, I can't get over how satisfying and cathartic it was. As for the LOTR edit, I'm so happy that it was appreciated! I honestly consider LOTR to be my idea of a perfect movie trilogy. I have a lot of childhood nostalgia attached to it.

First of all, I just want to say as someone who struggles with mental health a lot I totally understand any delays so you can be 100% up to recording, always take whatever time you need! I've been watching your OUAT reactions quietly for a few years now and I'll definitely be sticking around for however long it takes. With all that said, this finale (as a massive Emma + Killian fan) is definitely one of my favorites, and I've been looking forward to you seeing it since I first found your channel. Very satisfying to get here and your reaction was lovely to watch as always! As you've said, the whole time travel adventure really just embodies everything that's wonderful about this show, and it never fails to make me smile no matter how many times I've seen it. Emma getting to finally have her princess moment after everything it took to get there just feels so rewarding, and it's even more special that Killian got to be there for it. Like you've been saying, much of this arc has been quite rough on him, so him getting a win with Emma after all of it was well-deserved. His scene with David in the forest sneakily trying to get dad's approval is also one of my favorites haha. Oh, and I loved the Fellowship edit you threw in for the scene on the road - I have the same exact thought every time. Anyway, for all of the good in this episode, I always feel awful for Regina, and Rumple... well, he's Rumple at the end of the day. It is unfortunate that Emma really meant no harm, you can definitely understand the feelings on both sides which makes the whole thing even rougher. It will be interesting to see your reaction to how things play out in season four, for sure! Especially with that fun little teaser at the end.

This two part finale for season three is most certainly a perfect example of all that makes this beautiful show so beautiful and phenomenal. It's heart and sincerity is unmatched. In every way. Absolutely... Hook, or rather Killian, has most certainly earned Emma's kisses and the reward of finally being seen by Emma as the true hero he's been ever since he first selflessly chose to fight with her and the rest of our heroes against their enemies, in the beginning of this season. Especially since episode five... Good Form. Hook is absolutely the MVP of their time travel adventure and within this two part finale for season three!! And I love, love, love him!!! I am so happy that you were able to predict that he would be a true hero, and that he would come off strong within these episodes. :) I am so, so happy that you agree with me in regards to our favorite episodes!! I love them all so much, and it's wonderful that you do too!! Season four now, Luffy!! Yayyyyyy!! I am so happy that you're so excited to get into this upcoming season too! It's absolutely phenomenal, and I love it as much as I love season three! :) Thank you very much for everything once more, my dear friend!! You're amazing! Sincerely, Heidi

I'm not surprised that this finale is your favourite! As I said, I think this finale is a perfect example of everything that makes this show so wonderful. Its heart and sincerity is simply unmatched, especially for how consistently well executed it is. The kissing (and official coupling) between Emma and Hook near the end makes my heart melt like butter, it was so cathartic and rewarding to see. Hook earned every single one of those smooches and he deserves many more! He was the true MVP of the adventure, and I was SO happy that I predicted a strong showing for him before watching this finale. He delivered for me in spades! :) As for my favourite episodes of the season, I think you already listed them! I genuinely gave it as much thought as I possibly could, and there's pretty much a perfect overlap in our choices. So it's either a true reflection of the season's highest points, or we simply both get effected in very similar ways! :) Either way, season 3 was an absolute tour-de-force for me, so I'm definitely eager for season 4! Can't wait!

First and foremost... I am so happy that I was able to introduce you to Once Upon a Time, my dear friend! And I am so happy to see and hear just how much you have truly grown to love this phenomenal and powerful show I love so much. Once Upon a Time holds a very special place in my heart, and I am so, so happy to be able to share it with you! :) There's No Place Like Home- What an absolutely phenomenal two part finale... especially this second part!! I have to say... Season three's finale is my favorite out of all the season finales from every season. This two part season finale is just so beautiful, and I love both parts very much!! And they're two of my favorite episodes throughout all of season three, as well as throughout the entire show. Thank you, thank you for two more fabulous and fun reactions from you, Luffy!!! Now, as for why these two episodes are the finale for season three, and aren't season four's premiere... First, Emma has struggled with finding herself and accepting who she is this entire season, and since the beginning of this show. While Hook has been trying to remind her of who she is and to help her find it in herself to be the woman and Savior he already sees her as. It's one of season three's major themes. And in this two part finale, especially here in There's No Place Like Home... Emma finally finds herself, accepts her parents as her parents, and comes to see Storybrooke as her home with Hook's help. This two part finale gives much long awaited closure to this overall theme at last, and it's so, so beautiful! :) And second, in regards to Elsa from Disney's, Frozen, being introduced in the ending... At the time, this decision was meant to help boost the ratings, because if I do remember correctly, Once Upon a Time's ratings were down low at this point in time in spite of season three being a favorite season for a number of this show's fans. So, bringing Elsa from Frozen into this show most definitely helped to boost the ratings in a way, given that Disney's, Frozen was extremely popular for all the years since it first came out in theaters back in 2012. Especially at the time season three ended and season four began. Unfortunately for the creators and writers, a lot of fans of this show foolishly believed that by them bringing Frozen's characters into the storyline was a bad idea, so their plan sadly backfired on the show's creators and writers in a way too, because a lot of people gave up watching Once Upon a Time purely because they were angry they chose to use Frozen's popularity upon the movie coming out just six months prior to this finale and the Frozen arc nearly a year after Frozen was in theaters. And while I was worried at first about them bringing Frozen into the show's overall storyline... Not because of them probably seeking to use the movie's popularity to try to boost their ratings, but because I didn't know how they would be able to create a whole new and unique story arc with Frozen's characters and what we know from the Disney movie so soon, in a way that's as wonderful as the rest of the show has been so far. However, I absolutely love all that's to come!! And I should never have underestimated them even for a brief moment. And for the fans who gave up on the show, or has hated Once Upon a Time from here onward, because of their decision to bring in Frozen, or those who stopped watching this show all together, have missed out on so much. And those who hate this arc for the dumbest of reasons... Well, shame on them and I can hardly call any of them true fans of this show if they aren't willing to see past the creators' and writers' decision made in the hope of trying to keep their show alive. Happily and fortunately... I can thankfully say that all that's to come is absolutely phenomenal, and it will all hopefully surprise and please you like it has me, Luffy! I'm very excited for you to be able to see and enjoy all that's to come!!! :) Now, where to begin with this episode... There's No Place Like Home? First... I just have to say, I absolutely love, love, love Killian and Emma throughout this two part finale!!! They are absolutely perfect for one another! The chemistry between their actors, Jennifer Morrison and Colin O'Donoghue, is outstanding and perfect!! Their acting together overall and especially in these episodes to me is perfect, and their characters' love for one another, even though Emma might be less sure of her feelings for Hook at this point than his absolute feelings for Emma are... So beautiful!! I love them!!! :) I love this finale in its entirety so much!! However, if I have to choose what my most favorite moment within it is... Hands down, it's the moment in the end between Emma and Killian when Killian at last confesses to Emma that he traded his ship in order to be able to get back to her in New York and then their beautiful kiss. And what a kiss... or kisses!! Seeing Killian shrug off all that he's done for Emma like it's no big deal, with the belief that no one else will see all of his efforts in such a way, as well as the look of surprise on Emma's face upon realizing just how much Killian has really done for her and her alone, and a much deeper admiration for Killian in her eyes just before they kiss... and in their kisses... beautiful and phenomenal!! This moment for me makes me cry tears of joy. And yes... Killian is no longer just Hook in Emma's eyes. This episode is really the first time Emma uses his real name out of a much deeper respect, adoration, and understanding, outside of from when Emma's had to call Hook Killian whenever Henry was around so long as he was without his memories through most of the second half of season three. Also... We know that Killian giving up the Jolly Roger for Emma is a great sacrifice for him, given that it’s been his home for centuries since his brother’s death. Like we saw in this season’s episode... The Jolly Roger, his ship means so much to him. Killian made a big mistake that hurt Ariel in risking Prince Eric’s life for the sake of his ship, which Hook deeply regretted. And yet... We also see he did so because he believed then he had lost Emma for good, and he only had his ship left. He couldn’t hand her over. Least of all to one of his enemies, Black Beard, who wanted the Jolly Roger merely to try to prove to everyone that Hook has gone soft. A trait that is extremely dangerous for any pirate in their world. And yet... Killian traded the Jolly Roger for Emma the moment he learned there was a chance to be with her again. This shows just how much Killian truly loves Emma. And I love this so, so very much!!! Ooo... And now Emma is in the book too, which I absolutely love! And more so... I love that she's in the book within a picture of her and Killian dancing the waltz together at Emma's very first ball under the aliases of Princess Leia and Prince Charles. Love it!!!! So beautiful! And Emma calling herself Princess Leia in honor on Henry because she knows of her son's love for Star Wars... it's fantastic. I love it! This show us that Henry is definitely on her mind during their whole time travel adventure. But again... all of this isn't to take away from all of this episode's other events that I love either, as Emma, Hook, Snow, and Charming face off against the Evil Queen and her men, all so Emma and Hook can try to correct the timeline and bring Emma's parents back together, them nearly losing Snow to death, and finally Emma and Hook to nearly being trapped together forever within Rumplestiltskin's castle vault, which is mentioned by Belle back in the previous episode... Snow Drifts. It's all amazing in every way! :) Now... All throughout these episodes, Killian keeps warning Emma not to change anything at the risk of ruining something that's meant to be. He warns her several times and unfortunately, Emma keeps messing things up in spite of his warnings. Not on purpose of course, but because she is still simply naïve to the true consequences of her actions within the past. And if her mistakes weren't already bad enough before... Emma also saves Marian from being executed. Of course, I understand why she does so, because for one... Emma didn't know who she was, and two... because it is terrible that Marian was meant to die, and the guilt would have plagued Emma if she had left Marian to die. But unfortunately, in the end of the episode we are reminded that this woman is Marian, who is Robin's wife, who was meant to die that day, and who is now no longer dead. Which creates a big mess for Emma, poor Regina and Robin, and Roland too of course. Marian's alive and Robin is now trapped between a rock and a hard place. And boy... is Regina mad. Like mother, like daughter indeed. Yikes! I honestly didn't see this twist coming either. Because I didn't remember Marian's face from the previous episode she briefly appeared in back in season two... Lacey. Most fans don't. The actress who plays her in Lacey is the same actress who is playing her once again. And her role in Lacey was extremely small, so we don't really focus much on her face at all. And while Marian's arrival in present day Storybrooke is exciting and unexpected, at the same time... I couldn't help but feel upset by it too. Because not only will this cause problems for Regina and Robin, given that they've come to deeply care for one another at this point, but it has also created a dark rift between Emma and Regina, just when the two of them have become friends. Plus... I really hate love triangles, like I've said all along throughout this season with the love triangle formed between Hook, Emma, and Neal, as well as back in season one during the love triangle between David, Mary Margaret, and Kathryn too. I have been waiting very anxiously for this two part finale because I wanted you to see Emma and Killian finally together and to hopefully route for them as a True Love couple, because they are easily my favorite True Love couple throughout the entire series. And I am so, so happy that you are happy to see them now as a couple. But now... A new love triangle is formed between Regina, Robin, and Marian, and while I like this twist in the end of this finale with Marian returning, as tragic as it is for us as the audience since we love Regina and Robin together so much, I also hate it too. Creating this rift between the characters with yet another love triangle to me is this episode's only real flaw I can see. However, Regina possibly losing her happiness with Robin is so, so sad. In regards to Marian having been killed like Robin has been telling Regina, back in the episode... Witch Hunt, Robin tells Regina that he has accidentally put Marian in harms way, but nothing more. He never mentions to Regina what happened to Marian, and I can't help but wonder if Robin even knew what had happened to her. I doubt he would have so easily come to love Regina if he knew that the Evil Queen had killed her. So I doubt he knows. But Marian being imprisoned and then executed by the Evil Queen just like what was meant to happen to her in this episode before Emma saves her, is what actually did happen to her in the past. But with all this being said... I absolutely love the continuation of Snow's and Charming's own love story being played out, still with a few more changes. So beautiful. I love that it's Charming who recognizes the ladybug to be Snow upon listening to her talk about the dark fairy dust and what it can do while they traveled together with Hook to the Evil Queens castle, and how he saves her from being squashed by Hook. And I love how the Blue Fairy not only flies down to save Snow upon hearing her call for her, but I love how Blue also recognizes that Emma isn't who she claims to be, and that Blue understands her secret is necessary too. I also love seeing the Evil Queen stomp on the troll she herself has turned into a bug for failing to capture Snow for her, like Charming had originally had done back in Snow Falls. I love the similarities. Next... I also love that Snow goes back for Charming on the bridge to save him from being killed by the trolls, this time using only sand to trick the trolls into leaving them alone, until this brings them back on course at last as Snow and Charming share their lines about finding one another and Snow nearly believing that Charming would. And I love, love, love that Emma and Killian are watching their final moments together from a distance, allowing for Emma to see her parents fall in love with one another for the first time, as Killian beautifully states, "It’s okay, Swan. Not everyone gets the chance to watch their parents fall in love.", as he wipes away the tears falling down Emma's cheeks. So beautiful! Also... Mary Margaret and David name their second child. their son Neal, after Rumple's son of course. In honor of Neal's sacrifice. And while I personally don't care too much for Neal overall in spite of the few things that I really do like about his character, I still think this is sweet that the baby was named after him. This is definitely the right choice for the Charmings to have made in honor of Neal, who is a hero. Such a sweet moment. Even though I'm still not convinced by how much I like or don't like about Neal's storyline with dying to bring Rumple back and everyone putting the blame for his death on Zelena. I especially love the look on Gold's face upon hearing that the Charmings' child is named after his son. Very sweet. Another of my favorite moments within this episode... I love, love, love between Emma, David, Mary Margaret, and Henry when Emma rushes back to them at Granny's once she and Hook return from their time travel adventure... as Emma immediately hugs her parents for real this time, announces that she's staying in Storybrooke because she's finally found her home, and having Emma finally calling her parents Mom and Dad. The only other time Emma ever called them this, was back in season two's finale... And Straight on 'Til Morning, when Emma believes they are about to die because Storybrooke is about to be wiped out by Regina's fail safe. At last... Emma is calling her parents Mom and Dad because she finally sees them as such and loves them as such. So sweet and beautiful. And I love how happy it makes Henry that they're staying in Storybrooke too. :) Next... I do for the most part like the scenes with Neal in the flashbacks. I really like the parallels from Emma's past and present bringing together parts of the storyline, since yes... Neal's lines about home being a place you just miss when you leave it... is exactly what Emma says to Hook in Snow Drifts. We also get a few more past appearances throughout this episode, as we see Blue, Archie, Red, and Moe again. And it's really quite nice to see each of them again. And I also like seeing Archie as he marries Belle and Gold. Yep... Belle and Rumple get married. Very sweet and beautiful, even though I too am very, very angry with Rumple and sad for Belle because their marriage is starting off under the guise of Rumple's lies. And yet, I really love Belle's line... "And sometimes the best cups are chipped." Their vows are beautiful. What I love the most about this wedding scene, is that we have a montage during their vows, showing each of the True Love couples together during their vows. David and Mary Margaret as they're holding one another with little Neal in his mother's arms while Belle talks about always finding Rumple like Snow and Charming always have, Regina and Robin walking down the street with Roland between them, and with Emma and Killian continuing to kiss outside of Granny's as Rumple talks about his past being dark until Belle brought light into his life much like Emma has done for Killian too. Absolutely beautiful. :) In regards to Gold and Belle being married in private with only her father there as a witness, and Belle probably wanting a much larger wedding with all her friends... I would have thought she would want them all there with her. However, I also feel that Belle understands that Rumple wouldn't have anyone there for him, given that he's still seen as a villain to everyone else. And she most likely wouldn't want to make him feel any more uncomfortable than he most likely already did with Moe being there, given that he and Moe are still at odds with one another from their pasts. So, I understand Belle accepting an intimate wedding between her, Gold, her father, and Archie there so he could marry them. And in regards to how this beautiful moment is tainted upon knowing that Rumple is keeping such a dark secret behind Belle's back and that he hasn't given up his power for Belle after all like she believes he has... I absolutely agree with you. I do like Belle and Rumple as a True Love couple throughout the show overall. But for me... their relationship is my least favorite of them all because they are very wishy washy in regards to their feelings for one another and in all they say and do. And it's really frustrating at times too. And at this point in the show... I feel that Rumple most definitely doesn't deserve the happiness he's received with Belle because his redemption isn't pure. Now... I also absolutely love the scene between Hook and David by the campfire while they're waiting for Snow to return to help them break into the Evil Queen's castle. This is another of my absolute favorite scenes throughout this episode. I love any scene between David and Hook really, but this one is special for me because it helps to establish Killian and Emma as True Loves. First... it's sad how uncertain David is of his future with Abigail and how uncertain he is as to whether or not True Love exists. However, Hook helps him to believe that all it takes is finding the right person. And then... David asks Hook if he believes that Princess Leia... that Emma is his True Love. Sadly, Killian is uncertain by Emma's feelings for him, but again I love his line... "I'd go to the end of the world for her... or time." I also love that David talks about how his father... who is not really his father because he's talking about King George... is making trouble for him and Hook states he feels unsure of whether or not Emma's parents approve of him. David assures Hook that any father who knew how much Hook was doing for the woman he loves would be a fool not to approve of him. I love that Hook then states... "I hope you remember that." Amazing! And yes... I truly hope that David will remember the lengths Killian has gone to save and protect Emma, as well as to remind her that she is in fact the Savior and is home. And then... Trouble of course ensues, and Snow is nearly killed by a fireball fired by Regina as she nearly executes Snow. Luckily, Snow is clever enough to save just enough of the dark fairy dust to turn herself into a ladybug just at the right moment to save herself and to fake her death. It's such a great scene and I love how Killian's there to comfort Emma as she's forced to watch her mother supposedly become burned at the stake. And then he's there for Emma again afterwards in the forest when Killian talks to Emma about how he felt upon losing his brother. That his pain consumed him, while he pleads with Emma not to let her own pain do the same to her. Such a sweet, tender moment between them. I also deeply love how Killian continues to convince Emma that her home is in Storybrooke with her family and all those who love her throughout these episodes, especially during the scene within Rumple's vault in his castle. Emma is so stubborn, I was almost afraid she'd never come to see that she truly belonged in Storybrooke. However, I love that Killian has never given up trying to convince her of such. And I love that Emma finally comes to this discovery for herself at last as well, after everything she's been through on this time travel adventure with Killian and her parents. Killian and Emma are absolutely meant to be! :) And as always... Rumple is of course amazing in his past form as Rumplestiltskin once again. I love how he smugly, almost mockingly tells Emma and Hook that there's no way to send them home without Emma being able to wield her magic, then poofs them down inside his own dark vault where there is no escape. I also love his reappearance when Emma finally succeeds in reopening the portal, as Rumple nearly stops Emma from getting back home as he pleads with her to know about what happens to his son. I love how Emma pleads with Rumple to take the forgetting potion in order to make sure everything happens as it's meant to. The pain in her eyes is so heartbreaking. Once again... Brilliant acting by Jennifer Morrison. And then... Rumple lets her go as he takes the forgetting potion, bends down to pick up the wand Emma dropped as she fell through the portal, then he states... "What the hell am I doing in here!" I love it! So Rumple. :) I love every bit of this finale because it's so centric around bringing Emma and Killian together, as well as helping Emma find her home at last. I love how much Killian is there for her and that Emma calls him a hero in the end just before they share their kiss that is so much deeper than the kiss they share in Neverland. Because this time... Emma has truly come to care for Killian in return, and Killian has already come to love her so much more than Emma truly knows, or rather more than he believes could possibly be true. And the themes and parallels throughout these two episodes are beautiful and just perfect!! As for my favorite episodes from season three... I absolutely love Lost Girl, Good Form, Ariel, Going Home, New York City Serenade, The Jolly Roger, A Curious Thing, Kansas, Snow Drifts, and There's No Place Like Home. I would love to know which episodes are your favorite too, my friend. And anyone else who may wish to answer. Please let me know. Thank you so very much!! Thank you again, so much for this fabulous reaction, Luffy!!! I absolutely loved watching both parts of this phenomenal and favorite of the finales again with you, and I'm thrilled that you enjoyed it so much too!! I can't wait for season four to begin!!! Season four is just as phenomenal as season three! I absolutely love all that's to come for our beloved characters!! And what a great way to end this season finale! Season four is so phenomenal, and I can't wait to see your reactions for every episode to come, my dear friend!! Until your reaction for season four's premiere... Thank you, thank you so much, Luffy!!! Sincerely, Heidi

Heidi Elizabeth Marcum

First... I absolutely love, love, love your Hook t-shirt!! Amazing!! I have several myself. :) Snow Drifts- Thank you so very much for this reaction for the first episode within the two part season three finale, Luffy!!! I absolutely love, love, love this episode!!!! And for me, like it is for most people... This two part finale is my favorite of all the finales throughout this show, while all the other finales come in very closely afterwards. I absolutely love how this finale is so centered around Hook and Emma, and while I have absolutely loved them separately from the moments of their introductions... I love them all the more together. Their chemistry together is beautiful and phenomenal!! Their characters, as well as their actors too. And just like Snow's and Charming's chemistry, given that they're married in real life and their love story is very real... Hook's and Emma's chemistry, as much as I love Jennifer Morrison's and Colin O'Donoghue's chemistry, for me is the strongest shown between all the True Love couples throughout the entire show, equal to Snow and Charming. :) First, in regards to this episode's title being Snow Drifts... It is because this episode takes the events from season one's third episode that is titled... Snow Falls, which is the first episode centered around Snow and Charming showing us how they first meet, and twists it in unforeseen ways the longer Emma and Hook remain within her parents' past and continue to alter their history. Charming's and Snow's love story drifts. Hence, the name change from Snow Falls to Snow Drifts. And it's brilliant! And second, regarding Killian's words to Emma regarding her defeating the villains such as Pan and Zelena... I don't think he means this to say that he believes it was only Emma who defeated them. I think he means that they all have defeated the villains and have all survived. Emma had a hand in defeating these villains and planned a lot of the heroes' strategies against that which inevitably led to the villains' defeat. So, in a way... Emma had a big hand in defeating them both, even if she wasn't the one who actually defeated and or killed them herself. I hope this makes sense. Now... My favorite moments throughout this episode are all of the scenes shared between Hook and Emma of course. But more specifically... My absolute favorite moments are when they arrive at Midas' ball and share a beautiful waltz together. What can I say? I'm a hopeless romantic. :) So beautiful and they both look absolutely marvelous! I love Hook's line to Emma just as they begin to dance... "There's only one rule... Pick a partner who knows what he's doing." Hook never misses an opportunity to flirt and to show off his smug, dashing smile. :) I love it!!! However, at the same time, he also does everything he can to try to prove to Emma just how strong and beautiful she is, and why he loves her, which is a big part as to why I love him with Emma so much more than I love the idea of Neal being with Emma. Hook does everything he can to remind Emma of who she is and where she truly belongs, and he does all he can to remind her of how amazing and powerful she is, just as he has always seen in her. So beautiful. I can't express this enough. :) In regards to how Hook might know how to waltz... It's most likely because before he became a pirate, remember that Hook was Killian Jones, a Leftenant within the Royal Navy, thanks to his brother's influence. His brother having been a Captain within the Royal Navy. Undoubtedly, the Brothers Jones went to a number of balls and royal celebrations upon being within the Royal Navy. Or at least one. No matter how many, he would have learned how to waltz for when the Royal Navy was invited to the royal balls. Also... I absolutely love Emma's and Hook's conversation in the park in Storybrooke after they leave the celebration at Granny's. I love that Hook follows after Emma to continue to try to convince her that her home is in Storybrooke with her family and loved ones. And I love that we can see on his face that he truly wishes he was one of those she would want to stay in town for. He's so sad, especially when he asks Emma... "Don't you even care about them, or anyone in this town?" Hook is genuinely sad. His expressions truly show his emotions once again, and I truly believe him in everything he says and does for Emma. As for Emma wanting to return to New York where she thinks she will be safe... Emma and Henry weren't really safe in New York during the missing year either, because Zelena had sent Walsh to New York to be with Emma in the hope that Emma wouldn't remember her true self. And as soon as she regained her memories thanks to Hook, Walsh turned on her almost immediately. Emma is definitely not safe no matter where she goes, because she is destined to be the Savior. And she's always going to be a target. Even in a land without magic. Next... I really love the moment Hook uses his hook to try to prevent himself and Emma from falling through the time portal upon becoming caught within the portal's pull, then I love Hook letting go of his grasp to the ground so he can once again chase after Emma when she falls through despite his efforts. And I love his line in this moment too when he states, "One of these days, I'm gonna have to stop chasing this woman." It's very funny and a very Hook thing to say, but we also know that it's not true. Hook loves Emma too much and would chase after her to protect her no matter the circumstances. So perfect!! :) And then... I really, really love their time together in the Enchanted Forest where they confront Rumplestiltskin in all of his Dark One glory, face off against the past version of the villainous Hook who gets drunk, I love seeing Smee back again and him getting so confused by seeing Hook wearing two different vests when future Hook arrives aboard the Jolly Roger seeking to start Snow out on her quest to steal Charming's ring, then later when past Hook arrives too. Present day Hook is wearing a black leather vest, whereas past day Hook is wearing a red cotton vest. Now, in regards to Hook being jealous of his past self when Emma goes off to keep him distracted for them... I do believe that a part of Hook is certainly jealous of his past self because he knows Emma is there to flirt with him, even though he does understand it's nothing but a ruse. And his jealousy is definitely funny. However, I also believe there's more to it than just jealousy, because of the look of worry I see in his eyes when Emma starts to head over to him until he grabs hold of her to attempt to stop her for moment. Hook isn't at all the same man he used to be back in this past timeline. His character's grown a lot too, just as Regina has. He's found redemption. So... I feel that an even bigger part of him is more worried about Emma being with his past self because he knows the kind of man he used to be back then. That he was someone who might drunkenly try to take advantage of Emma, or possibly even hurt her if Emma tried to reject him, or even make another slip up. So... I feel that it's more out of fear for her safety that Hook knocks himself unconscious, and not simply out of jealousy. I hope this makes sense. Emma knows who Hook used to be in his past. That he used to be a pirate and a villain. She's seen him as such too. If you remember, Hook had shot Belle and stabbed Gold through his chest to get his revenge against Rumplestiltskin. So, Emma knows very well who Hook is and has seen him at his darkest. And yet... Hook has worked very hard to changed and is trying to become a hero worthy of Emma. And while Emma is afraid to trust him and even resents him right now, a part of her still sees that he is truly a good man. Now... From the moment they fall through the time portal and arrive within Emma's parents' pasts, Killian keeps warning Emma not to change anything at the risk of ruining something that's meant to be. He warns her several times and unfortunately, Emma keeps messing things up in spite of his warnings. Not just with Emma accidentally keeping Snow and David from meeting and ruining their timeline, but when Emma also lets slip that Rumple eventually falls in love with Belle while in his castle too. And if that wasn't bad enough... Emma also attempts to stop the Evil Queen from imprisoning the woman in the forest until Hook stops her from doing so. It is certainly foolish of Emma to keep making these little mistakes by letting slip certain things about the future. However, if you think back to the first half of season two, when Emma is trapped within the Enchanted Forest with Mary Margaret, Emma was very naïve when it came to her having to live within a world unfamiliar to her. And yes... While she may have grown a lot since then and she understands magic more now than she did back then, she continues to hold onto that naivety and not just while in the Enchanted Forest, but even at home in Storybrooke, as she continues to question certain things about magic like when she questioned that the Wicked Witch of the West was real back in this season's episode... Witch Hunt. So, Emma making these slip ups isn't uncommon. It's a part of her naivety about magic and this life that she really doesn't want to be a part of any longer. I hope this makes sense. Also... I absolutely love that we were able to see Snow's and Charming's love story play out all over again throughout this episode too, with a few changes to how they fall in love this time around. Changes that include seeing past characters again such as Ruby, Kathryn/Abigail, King Midas, Geppetto and Pinocchio, Captain Black Beard, Granny, and of course the Evil Queen. And it's all so beautiful. However, I will admit that the first time I watched this finale, I was a little uncertain whether or not I liked the changes in their love story, only because I absolutely love their love story the way it was the first time around. Yet the more I've watched this finale, the more these changes have grown on me and the more I continue to love these events all over again and again. Especially with Hook and Emma added into their love story. :) Like always... I love Rumplestiltskin throughout this episode as well. I love how Emma thinks about going to him for him after Hook becomes confused by the nods to Back to the Future and asks Emma if Marty McFly is some sort of wizard. It's absolutely brilliant, and hilarious!! I love all of these movie references. This two part finale most definitely has quite a bit of Back to the Future vibes, nods, references, etc... Especially given that Emma accidentally makes it so that her parents don't meet just like they are supposed in the original timeline of their love story. Just as Marty accidentally did in the Back to the Future movies too. In regards to Emma calling herself Princess Leia upon introducing herself and Killian to King Midas... Emma knows that the original Star Wars Trilogy are Henry's all time favorite movies, which has been established within this show a few times already. And therefore, I suspect Emma subconsciously chooses the name Princess Leia as a way to help her remember her son and the reasons for her need to get home. And I love the moment Emma and Hook first confronts him as Rumplestiltskin first appears to them outside of his castle unexpectedly. As well as the scene with them inside his castle, as Rumple tries to kill Hook until Emma stops him and saves Hook by telling Rumple the truth about being reunited with his son, then how Rumple continues to tease Hook about killing him and with Emma and Hook trying to explain Emma's mistakes in keeping her parents from meeting. I love these scenes so much!! And no... Emma has never seen his as this version of Rumplestiltskin before, which is why she is so shocked by his appearance in this episode when they first meet. And I love the shocked look on her face. As for the beginning before all the time travel shenanigans happen... I really enjoy the scene inside the sheriff's station as Rumple works his magic to delete himself from the surveillance footage when he killed Zelena. It's maddening, but it's part of what we love about Rumplestiltskin. He's just brilliant! Also... I love the scene between each of the heroes inside Granny's Diner as they're sharing Snow's and Charming's love story on how they met with their newborn son yet to be named. It's so cute. And it's what sets up everything that's to come, from why Emma and Hook wind up in her parents' past timeline, to how everyone finally learns about Emma's intentions to leave Storybrooke with Henry so they can return to New York... thanks to Hook's own slip up. I love it! I also enjoy the beginning scene between Rumple and Belle too, even though once again... Rumple is being conniving and I feel so badly for poor Belle, because she's completely in the dark. And unfortunately, even her father has come to forgive him after everything, at the worst possible time. And lastly... The very beginning scene with young Emma outside the orphanage is shown to remind us of Emma's past, especially since her feelings then are the same kind of feelings she struggling with currently. She has found her parents and they are happy... yes. However, Emma still doesn't feel like Storybrooke is her home. Right now, she's very lost and doesn't know what she wants, other than to be away from all things magical and a world of fairytales. This is all this opening scene is meant to convey. To show us another viewpoint of what Emma is currently feeling. Overall... I love, love, love this episode so much and I am so grateful for your reaction for it! I love Hook and Emma all throughout, and I love that reminds us of Snow's and Charming's love story in different ways. So beautiful! Thank you so much, my dear friend!! I am so excited for your reaction for the Part Two finale titled... There's No Place Like Home, coming up next! It's another of my all time favorite episodes throughout all seasons along with Snow Drifts too. So, onto it... Sincerely, Heidi
