Like polls are so bad for chosing movies because the blockbusters always win over the actually good/deep movies... Sinners isnt bad at all overall, but its simply less interesting than than the other choices and knowing Lola and Melina, I know they would relate more to the other flims and would have more to say about them.

As a black woman, the depiction of Black Women in OBAA was very problematic and sometimes triggering for me. While I felt the exact opposite in Sinners. Also there are 2 standout scenes in Sinners that automatically beat anything I saw in OBAA sorry but it's just the truth. I didn't hate OBAA, and I do think overall it's a good movie, but I didn't walk away from OBAA emotionally invested in anything I saw in that movie, it did not move me the way Sinners did, I felt so connected to my people and heritage after Sinners and it's not just me but MANY people felt that way, and any movie that can move so many people like that deserves its flowers.
