Power, Denji, and aki mean everything to me. I love them I love them I love them I love them

Kaylee Hubbard

Yeah two years is a long time, anything could happen

Nathan Elkin

You a masochist? Watch Made in Abyss

Nathan Elkin

People who thought you wouldn’t like it are the people who didn’t like it. Anyone who knows a fraction of your taste’s would know this is your bread and butter. Looking for some meat? Try Orb: On the Movements of the Earth. Want some veggies? Try Pantheon. Want some fucking pudding? Try Lazarus. I knew you would love this show just like I know you’ll love these shows, because I’ve never once disagreed with your tastes or opinions, yall know what I like without even knowing it.

Nathan Elkin

Is the new episode not coming out td?

Lawkan546

MADOKA MÁGICA!!! ITS TIME EVERYONE!!!!!!

Takopi would be my choice for a short 6- episode show.

Sam

please watch Takopi's Original Sin for the short anime poll

wataree

A short anime that would be great for a reaction reaction would be Dorohedoro. It's even more unhinged than Chainsaw Man.

ReyZiegler

A Look Back reaction would be great, but as far as a short anime go, I recommend Ping-Pong the animation

Virgil Hawkins

Based on their end discussion they'll never see JJK.

Eric

I’m so hyped hearing that Frieren conviction that it will not be pushed back. Feels like Gandalf vs the Balrog.

My Toasty Toast

So far, the comments on ytb for chainsaw man that i've read are lovely. People are actually very happy that you understand the show :) can't say the same for mad men... You should avoid youtube comments for this one as well lol

petitcorbeau

I recommend takopi original sin

Dendozy

Kishibe can bend me over and have his way with me what who said that

bondbond53

That conversation near the end about the way Denji processes emotions made me tear up, especially since I was the exact same way for a long time. Art will often hit everyone differently because of their own personal tastes and experiences, but it can be so amazing to see it resonate with others the same way it resonated with myself, especially since you two are so good at putting things into words.

yorozuyakagura

Whoop posted this before reading through the comments and a lot of people beating me to it... but hey, They are right!

Paden Snell

Said it before. But with yall mentioning you're not going to have a ton of space on the schedule before the GOAT returns and the CSM movie, yall should watch Look Back if you got a small gap in the schedule. 1hr movie by chainsaw man's author, I think you guys would like it and its fun to see his character writing still shines in a totally different genre.

Paden Snell

The release outside Japan is still four weeks away. I'll be seeing it in the cinema with friends. It's going to be a great experience. The only major drawback is the German subtitles. When you're used to English subtitles, it feels very strange to read familiar terms like “Gun Devil”, “Chainsaw” and others in your native language.

Robert Dirk H.

Season 2 will be peak. It will dominate the discurs in the anime community during its release.

Robert Dirk H.

I also would have preferred to wait until Season 2 is close to release.

Robert Dirk H.

As a manga reader here is all i’ll say….trust in Fujimoto’s writing 👌🏽

I voted against Chainsaw-Man for multiple reasons (unrelated to whether you'd enjoy the show). In fact, one of my reasons was BECAUSE you'd enjoy it. When great shows have a movie on the horizon that won't hit streaming for a long time, or a long wait before the next season airs, or no official announcement regarding a continuation, I feel like there's no reason to subject potential new fans to the same extended hiatus & risk of spoilers that we're struggling with (especially if one or more of the other poll options are a finished series). If you made a poll in 2026 or 2027 that included Chainsaw-Man, I would have been far more likely to vote in support. I'm glad you're enjoying the show, but I'm not surprised that you are. It's a great series, and Season 1 was amazing (despite what many in the JP fandom think).

Merfhew

This episode is so damn good for Aki. The way he deals with his grief is so well done. But I agree: No way Aki is dying in 2 years... :D

Robert Dirk H.

Edit: Yup. Apparently, the S1 director and many of the other staff are not credited. There was a backlash to Season 1 by many of the JP CSM fans, so people think that's related to the decision to remove S1 credits. If this is true, what a scummy thing for MAPPA to do. Wait, I've heard a lot of talk lately about a recent anime compilation movie that removed some of the credits from the original anime team. Is this what they were referring to?

Merfhew

Powy is the best nickname :D

Robert Dirk H.

I assume they'll watch it eventually, but the movie probably won't come to streaming anytime soon.

Merfhew

I was confident you guys would like this show because of how it remains grounded with these characters and their realistic problems. As usual you both key in on what's making them tick in these scenes and your theories about how the story could go in the future & the morality of hunting devils just because they're devils mirrors how I was thinking when reading for the first time. It's going to be a genuine treat to see you guys react to how things go down--some haters were right about one thing: Chainsaw Man isn't close to hitting its peak yet in season 1 alone

hman70

Also, someone wrote about this under the previous episode, but there are 2 compilation movies, recapping season 1, which are out on Crunchyroll, and have extra animated scenes at the end, which I think are nice to watch after finishing season 1. :)

Milen Karabadzhakov

And who knows how long it'll be before the movie comes to streaming. I have 0 interest in going to the theater, so I'll be terrified of spoilers for the next several months. I've already been spoiled on the Demon Slayer movie, but since I don't care about that show as much, it wasn't the end of the world (though still annoying). If the CSM movie gets spoiled for me, I'll be pissed. But yeah, that's one of the reasons why I thought they shouldn't start CSM when they did. Same for Frieren back when that won a poll (I wanted to spare them the wait we were all struggling with), but at least S2 is almost here. Just a few more months.

Merfhew

Broke: I can't wait for them to see what happens in the movie and season 2 :) Woke: They should watch Look Back at some point too! Bespoke: They should watch the Ish 1000 Player Rich vs Poor Civilization Experiment video

hman70

If there’s a space for 1 week prior to the frieren premier i really hope you guys check out Look Back!

Frost

If they watch Pluto, what are they gonna watch before Frieren S2 for the remaining 4 weeks? Although I do hope that they can use that time to watch some anime movies but I really doubt if they will agree to this.

Tsunemori Kiriko

I really like your conversations and theories about how devils work and how you could use them, benefit from them and have symbiotic relationships with them. I don't have anything to add that's not a spoiler. Also good point about humans being able to create narratives around devils with no pushback, a lot of devils CAN communicate, they generally just don't care to defend themselves. Especially with the gun devil, we haven't seen it in action at all yet except through hearsay and people acting in the name of it.

Nina

I went to see the Chainsaw Man movie, and it was absolutely amazing. A wonderful future awaits us.

太郎 田中

If I had to give reasons other than the sex stuff that people didn't think you'd like CSM it'd be more surface level ones: It's got a decent amount of action, it's gory and it's called "Chainsaw Man" so that doesn't make people think it has any depth to it. One other valid reason why some would've advised not to watch it right NOW is that there's gonna be a (completely mandatory to watch) movie soon and season 2 isn't close to releasing at all, so it might be a longer wait than you'd like. The movie and season 2 are (imo, and it's not a controversial opinion) the absolute best parts of CSM. So in that sense I can see people who aren't familiar with the manga go in with high expectations for season 1 and be somewhat disappointed, not knowing it only gets better.

Nina

If you guys saw JJK first you'd know he's not Zeke but actually Nanami.

Jack Hoff

I agree, Lola. 2 years is a joke and no one's laughing. Poor Aki

Isaac

Just to add to the chorus, I'm as confident you'll love Look Back as I was that you'd love Frieren. Consider watching :)

Isaac

Can't recommend this enough

Isaac

First use of “Powy” 👌

My Toasty Toast

We need Pluto after this. Is from the same creator as Monster.. and one really hot take here but I feel is also better than Monster in my opinion. But yeah Pluto should be next and is only 8 episodes lol so you girls can finish that show real quick as well.

Jack SV

Commenting this again in the hopes of you guys seeing this. Please consider watching Look Back. It's less than an hour long (57 minutes long, I think). It's written by the same author as Chainsaw man and it's very much your taste.

Pratham Dusad

when you're done with the series, i hope you guys will watch the chainsaw man movie that's coming out too :D the reze arc is very good :>

minty

If I had to venture a guess as to why people thought you wouldn't like the show it would be because of its themes around sex. That and the way the show forces you to be uncomfortable at times like when Himeno brought Denji back to her apartment. Denji and Chainsaw Man as whole is often misunderstood and misrepresented as some sort of sexual fan service story. Denji often gets treated like sex pest character by both people who like the story and people who dislike the story. The reality is that he is a maladjusted, unsocialized, and deeply traumatized teenage boy whose only real "sin" is not understanding social norms and being crass at times. Denji must be protected at all costs.

koi

Not every death needs to mean something, not every character has a place in the story and I wish people would stop projecting their own fan canon onto the stories the creators made as a way to diminish the value of the writing. You're under the impression that these deaths are for shock purposes or to mix things up but in both JJK and CSM, they have a strong narrative and thematic purpose.

Brakthir

"Powy" ❤️😭 When I first saw that, I almost died from cuteness, like what do you mean, that's too adorable.

Milen Karabadzhakov

Hey girls I’m here to recommend a show for the upcoming short anime poll. It’s called “ Erased “ it’s one of the best short shows I’ve ever seen, read the description on tv time I think it’s a show that will highly interest you, It’s only 12 episodes but it manages to make you fall in love with the characters so easily. I can already see the two of you adopting our sweetest baby girl kayo.

Frieren The Hamburger Slayer

This is a fantastic episode, but it highlights the reason why I voted against CSM as a reaction for this channel. This is just my opinion, I could be 100% missing the mark here, it’s only what I perceived when I watched this show. With Aki as an example, CSM’s writing (like JJK) to me seems more obsessed with giving characters cool and/or beautiful deaths than it is fleshing them out and giving them fulfilling arcs. I’m not saying that there are no characters arcs with depth - for example Himeno (for better and worse) had such a profound impact on the story despite being in the show for three episodes. No spoilers, but reading ahead in CSM, I get the same feeling when I watched JJK that many characters are often wasted just to give them a really cool death, and am disappointed at the potential they had/could have had if they lasted longer rather than the author realizing “it’s been 30 minutes since the last person’s died.” Of course, reading a manga leaves the story a little more open to one’s interpretation in tone and execution, I could just be misaligned with the author’s intention. Again, this is just my opinion, it’s just how I interpreted the writing and potential of each character. Maybe with this comment I’ve accidentally made the biggest argument for a JJK reaction lol. I do like CSM and I’m glad that the girl’s are enjoying it as well.

My Toasty Toast

YEAH CHAINSAWMAN FINALLY

Beam

https://youtu.be/HQLb8DfvuNE Here's my reaction, thanks so much to everyone for watching and the girls for letting me post it ❤️
