Cowboy Bebop Episode 24 Reaction

Comments

Holy fucking shit… will all you insufferable entitled assholes actually comment about this episode instead of trying to tell them what they should watch next. This is arguably one of the best episodes of the series and almost none of you fucks have anything to say about it.

MarkyO

If anything, Ed went back to the orphanage for a while, and the little spindle toys were a hint towards that. I can believe Ed would stay in touch with her father, but that’s not where she belongs.

SwampFox95

i got so depressed when i first saw this episode. i remember adult swim would cycle this show into the line up every few months and each time id always record on vhs all my favorite episodes. this was def one of them.

michata_

That would be really cool and according to current results in the long anime Strawpoll 2026, https://strawpoll.com/w4nWWdjrJnA , these are all in the top 7. For Melkor, however, I would like to highlight The Legend of the Galactic Heroes again. He's been fighting for this anime for years :D

Robert H.

After Haikyuu and now Monster it would be awesome is the next long anime poll only included shows with female protagonists. Imagine a poll with Fruits Basket, Apothecary Diaries, Love is War, or even Ghost in the Shell.

Jason Parker

I need y’all to watch Apothecary Diaries just so you can meet our queen Maomao 😭 but I always want Steins;gate to happen cuz its looooong overdue

Daniel Molina

I'd recommend Thermae Romae Novae. It's only 11 episodes and hilarious. It'd be a nice break.

DAVID COSTELLO

Orb next plis!

Krystian Krawacki

I hope Run With The Wind happens one day. Its truly no coincidence that almost everybody that worked on Haikyuu also made Run With The Wind. They share so many wonderful traits and are both so incredibly uplifting, relatable and instills one with unbridled hope, passion and empathy. It winning a poll seems unfortunately so unlikely, but it would be great to see.

DefensiveOnion

If Milena and Lola want to watch a more positive and short show next, Run with the Wind is a good option. It's 23 episodes made in 2018 by Production I.G who made Haikyu!! The show is about a college running team who are mostly complete amateurs and are training for a long distance relay race. As with Haikyu!!, you don't need to be a sports fan or a runner to enjoy it. It's got great character development and the music is by Yuki Hayashi who created the score for Haikyu!! Please consider it for the poll.

Nat D.

I want them to react to a Kyoto Animation movie like A Silent Voice before Look Back, because Look Back is all about Kyoto Animation.

Robert H.

I understand the "Chainsaw Man" recommendations, but wouldn't it be better for them to react to "Look Back" first ? From the same Author and Its one of the best Anime to come out in the last few years, plus it's only 50 minutes long and would make for a great one-off episode reaction. It's the length of a normal Live Action episode and it would allow them to get familiar with the work of the Chainsaw Man Mangaka. They would be much more prepared and understanding of what Chainsaw Man is trying to do and Look Back is a phenomenal Movie on its own. Excited for Cowboy Bebop to finish, so I can finally binge the whole reaction Series. Never watched the Dub before, so that exciting as well. Also a general Poll question or to @Robert H. Steins Gate on the Poll means Steins Gate 0 is not included ? I could stomach Steins Gate for a few months, with some of its transphobic moments and bleh side charchters, but Steins Gate 0 is genuinely not that good and it would be a shame if Steins Gate 0 was also reacted to, instead of something new and exciting. I think even most Steins Gate fans would mostly be excited for Steins Gate and not Steins Gate 0

DefensiveOnion

This episode was what really cemented the show in my memory, I will remember that egg-eating scene for life. These last few episodes surprised me on my initial viewing years ago. Most episodes were fairly self-contained, vaguely similar premise of "The group is broke so they're hunting down a bounty so they can afford food" proceed to succeed or fail, usually giving crumbs of character for the main cast, before they all end up back on the ship, barely better if not worse than how they were when the episode started. And that makes you feel like this group is just going to stick together until the end, and then we get to this. I also remember being doubtful that Ed and Ein were actually leaving, but the scene with the eggs, the music, the ending card, the fact there is barely any episodes after, and you know its true. The show starts with Spike and Jet, broke with barely anything to eat, and when they find the other 3, Spike makes that mention about hating kids/animals/women with attitude. Once they finally have a meal that has 5 full plates, the emptiness is palpable despite how they'd bump heads and bicker. It was built of so many little moments and the way the show structured itself, but I feel its one of my own favourite scenes/shows to remember that there's no guarantee that the people you have around you will always be there, so cherish the moments in the present.

Alex

But then no other anime will have a chance. It's the modern Jujutsu Kaisen with 10 years for future seasons. :(

Robert H.

Blue Eyed Samurai is PEAK, but I want to wait until the final Season 3 is close. Currently we still wait for Season 2.

Robert H.

I want to traumatise them with Rainbow Nisha. Wouldn't be angry if they would stop the reaction because they can handle the story. It's really hard to watch, but incredible good and has an awesome ending.

Robert H.

I'll do anything to make sure Steins Gate loses another time :D

Robert H.

Silver Spoon is great, etremely character-driven and by female writer Hiromu Arakawa, who wrote Fullmetal Alchemist. However, the anime only adapted half of the manga story, as the story was not as successful with anime fans.

Robert H.

Silver Spoon is the correct choice for a short run anime.

Luis

FYI there are 25 weeks between the finishing CB and Frieren S2 returning on January the 2nd. So it's 2 short (12 ep) anime or one longer with 24-25 episodes. My pick would be 2 shorter (for example, Bocci the Rock and Puella Magi Madoka Magica), but also I feel bad for Steins Gate fans who waited for a long time and already marginally lost 3 or 4 times in a row.

lambo

Now this is a bit of spoilers so don’t read if you still haven’t watched the last two episodes lol… ok, I feel you but at the same time considering what happens at the end of this show maybe it was a good idea that Ed didn’t stick around for that.

Jack SV

Witch Hat Atelier mention. I have no doubt that the girls are going to love that show.

Priscilla

Gonna miss doing the little dance with y'all at the start.

Hollow

10/10

Nik

wait Orb is finished?? will there never be a second season?

Lau

Hopefully "Orb: On the Movements of the Earth" happens at one point, because no new Anime since Vinland Saga S2 had as much of a profound impact on me as Orb did. Knowing them I'm sure they'd love it as well and the discussions would be amazing. I feel like a lot of Vinalnd Saga fans Ive seen feel preeety positive about Orb as well :) Dungeon Meshi aka Delicious in Dunegon would a great ongoing Show for them and S2 is coming sometime in 2026 and would finish the series. It would fit wonderfully to have it before S2 of Frieren airs next year. 3 Incredible Female Fantasy Mangaka/Authors are responsible for the wonderful Frieren, Delicious in Dungeon and Witch Hat Atelier (soon releasing its first Season) and they are are all widely critically acclaimed Manga and soon to be masterpiece anime, that have wonderful casts of diverse and multi-dimensional charachters, great and imaginative worlds and fit exactly what they seek and love in shows and stories.

DefensiveOnion

If this is other channel I probably will recommend to watch some horror anime in the future like Another (like Final Destination) and Higurashi When They Cry haha (must be interesting reaction), but I know LM will not go for it, I also don't want them to get traumatised. I usually not the kind of person who like to watch horror movies but only anime it is acceptable and enjoyable.

Trumpet Sounds

Just throwing this out there since we're talking short unfinished anime, but Blue Eye Samurai. One day.

Jacob

As for the conversation between Ed and Ein, in the original, Ed tells Ein to “go home” instead of “go back to the ship”.

yamada

Ed's dad abandoned Ed on accident not on purpose so no.

Jack Hoff

"Imagine if they all just go their separate ways" - thinks about ending of episode - oh no lol.

Colin Poole

By the way, I don't know if anyone has mentioned this: Judging from the Merlion, there's a high chance that Faye is a Singaporean

Tsunemori Kiriko

Please put “Skip and Loafer” on the poll. Season 2 is going to come out. Mostly importantly it’s the kind of happy show you need to balance Monster.

lili

If you are gonna set the next poll's theme as "ongoing animes" then I beg you to put Chainsaw Man into the poll _(:з」∠)_

Tsunemori Kiriko

Ging's a good father compared to Ed's father, ya?

Paqi

We're in the endgame now.

David

I love Bocchi. I listen to his music at least once a day (covers, guitar tabs, I love the love he has in Japan). However, it can't compare to the influence Steins;Gate has had on my life. It's simply the best anime I'll ever watch. The sheer amount of emotion I've experienced with this show fills me with excitement EVERY DAY. Its characters, its perfectly woven plot... Those of us who love the books know what I'm talking about. That said, if you watch BTR, I'll be happy regardless.

Fuufu

I'd put A Place Further Than The Universe in your recommendation list.

James Long

I recommend watching short anime’s that are finished first because there are A LOT of them lol. It also gives new anime’s like Bocchi The Rock and many others the time they need to produce and create more seasons, you also won’t have to wait. If the poll is short finished anime’s. Here is what Id personally recommend. Dororo Steins Gate Your Lie In April Pluto Erased Orb On The Movements Of The Earth All good top rated shows. However if you decide to still go with unfinished short anime’s I’d Recommend these two Bocchi The Rock Blue Box there aren’t many good Unfinished animes on going right now to be honest besides those 2. I don’t think you would like Dan Da Dan or Chainsaw man cause of specific things that happen in certain episodes. So I didn’t put them in my recommended , but thats just my opinion.

Frieren The Hamburger Slayer

Reactions to this episode are always so great because at a certain point it dawns on the reactor or reactors what is happening. I can't hear the song Call Me Call Me without getting tears in my eyes. Its like, yeah, the show is really coming to an end.

James Long

Man I swear if Steins gate loses to Bocchi, I would feel bad for y’all who keep recommending this anime lol

Jack SV

Steins;Gate Next

Fuufu

I am here once again nominating Bocchi the Rock (s2 coming soon) for short anime poll. Same director as Frieren, all-female cast, brings joy Edit: I just watched the intro, I’m locked in to the upcoming poll

My Toasty Toast

I forgot how good this episode was. See you cowgirl, sometime, somewhere

My Toasty Toast

apothecary diaries is pretty cool

deb

The only out going two anime’s that are worth watching right now I think are Chainsaw man and Dorohedoro.

Jack SV

Now.. it’s a bit bitter sweet this episode because as much as you girls would like for all of them to be together as a family, well.. like Hunter x Hunter when Killua and Gon went their own way .. sometimes friends have their own paths or way. You never know.. maybe in the future Milena finds something out there in life where she cannot be with Lola filming videos anymore or vice versa. This is why is always important to cherish all those moments with friends ;) ahh.. these two weeks waiting for the finale are going to be hell!

Jack SV

oh! :( most of the recommended short animes (and interesting ones) are already finished idk about an ongoing anime rn that is really worth watching like frieren was

alon

Wdym it will only be anime unfinished in the next poll...? What? 😭 These past weeks the shorts animes I've seen people recommended the most are pluto/ samurai champloo/ orb/ neon Genesis Evangelion... And I know there is also interest for a place further than the universe. They are all finished. And is it dandadan you're talking about? Because I can't see you liking an anime like that especially because of the first episode... ( Didn't go much further myself) I'm not even interested in a reaction to bocchi the rock but it's definitely more up your alley. Anyway I only watched the first minutes of the reaction and I'm way too sleepy so I hope my comment makes sense and wasn't whiny lol. It's just that Pluto was never on a poll while it's so good and I know you'll love an anime like orb ( and there is interest). Anyway I'm really going to sleep now. Can't wait to watch your reaction tomorrow!

petitcorbeau

One of my favourite episodes. Multiple songs that I adore in this one, ‘Call Me Call Me’ at the end is an obvious highlight, but I have a real soft spot for ‘Wo Qui Non Coin’, the French/Japanese song that plays as Ed and Faye fly back to the Bebop against the sunset, a scene criminally short in my opinion. If you go back to the previous episode, the preview for this episode has Ed humming the tune without any instrumentation. It’s quite moving knowing what’s coming. Here’s a link if anyone’s interested: https://youtu.be/Nr6LjEGBixA?si=ugcIJfS0MgGTKsRZ Faye drawing her old bed into the dirt is such a heartbreaking image, nevermind Ed’s ‘bye bye’ scrawled on the deck. Ed’s father was mapping the earth to “turn chaos into order”, and Ed is a representation of pure chaos if there ever was one. She will forge her own path and do it her way , and this being the last we see of her is good enough for me to know that her and Ein will be just fine. See you cowgirl, someday, somewhere!

Darrach

Welp.. I cant believe we are almost done with this show. I don’t what’s going to come next after this but hopefully can be a great follow up to this amazing show.

Jack SV

Edward: Isnt that amazing? Being a Hu- Cartographer is so great, he was willing to abandon his own daughter!

Antonio

she was thinking of bocchi

LM Reactions

Please drop 25 & 26 together next week. 😭

Jay

I would cry happy tears if Dungeon Meshi or A Place Further Than The Universe won the next poll.

Kaycee

This is the most unintentionally funniest intro I've seen in a while. Spoilery for finale >We are thinking about talking about doing movies >Could not tell you the title or synopsis of the anime i want to watch >I dont think we're gonna find out anything about these characters >They're going to stay together and accept each other as family

Antonio

Getting the kids and animals safely out of the way in time for the Real Folk Blues

Darrach

I guess Milena is thinking of the light-hearted show Dungeon Meshi (Delicious in Dungeon), whose final season 2 is currently in production. It could also be the supernatural sci-fi action high school rom-com anime Dandadan, whose season 2 is just being releasing right now. Bocchi The Rock Season 2 is also in production. Dororo is complete, but really dark, so it can't be, but it would be a great show too! I'm still hoping for the happy show A Place Further Than The Universe :D Here are the results from the last strawpoll: https://strawpoll.com/Q0Zp76z39gM/results [O22] Psycho Pass (Season 1) [F13] Odd Taxi [F24] Your Lie in April [F25] Banana Fish [U13] Chainsaw Man [F08] Pluto [F13] A Place Further Than The Universe [HAPPY] [F25] Steins;Gate [F24] Dororo (2019) [F26] Cowboy Bebop [U12] Bocchi The Rock [HAPPY] [C23] Eighty Six: 86 [F12] Erased [F11] Ping Pong The Animation [F31] Evangelion [U24] Dungeon Meshi [HAPPY] [F11] Tatami Galaxy [U24] Dandadan [O12] The Promised Neverland (Season 1) [F13] Madoka Magica [U25] Blue Box [HAPPY] [F25] Shouwa Genroku Rakugo Shinjuu [F12] Death Parade [U24] Link Click [U26] Made in Abyss [C25] Rainbow Nisha [U24] Oshi No Ko [F24] Parasyte: The Maxim [U13] Heavenly Delusion [F23] Run with the Wind [HAPPY] [U24] One Punch Man [F26] Samurai Champloo [C13] Baccano [F25] Orb: On the Movements of the Earth [F13/26] Horimiya [HAPPY] [F12] Buddy Daddies [HAPPY] For the Long Anime Slot after Monster you can vote here: https://strawpoll.com/w4nWWdjrJnA

Noooo :( I am happy for everyone that have been waiting for an ongoing show but I really wanted Neon Genesis Evangelion atleast on the poll.... Next time please! Moving on, I really really really recommend you do DELICIOUS IN DUNGEON! It's an amazing show with great characters that perfectly balances slice of life moments with intense plot and complex characters. It was airing almost at the same time as Frieren so they were both dominating the online discourse at the time and they are quite similar in a lot of ways. I personally prefer Delicious in Dungeon, that's how good it is! Another recommendation is KAGUYA-SAMA:LOVE IS WAR. Amazing show and we have yet to do a romance on this channel. It would really break through the serious show streak on the channel.

bondbond53

Ed and Ein leave the show and so does the lightheartedness

bondbond53

This… this episode hit me so much since I saw it for first time 🥺❤️

edson_mo

Been waiting for this one, episode hits right in the feels.
