If you haven't seen it already, it would be very interesting to see your reactions to and discussions about Adolescence. Plus it's a short limited series (only 4 episodes, each around an hour long), so you can just watch it between Sopranos and whatever longer show comes next.

Tbf Benny acted alone here, he wasn't even kicking up a percentage to Tony or Chris (which is a serious offense in and on itself).

I dunno Tony's the boss of a family that actively committed fraud against Artie's customers. Tony also blew up his restaurant. The idea that Artie should take all the blame for all of his problems coming from Tony is a bit rich.

LM now: We don't like Artie and he irritates us a bit but we know he is a good person, we never really hated him.
Also LM not long ago: what a WEAK, PATHETIC man. Such a SMALL man omg.

Always heartwarming to me that the show has some mercy for Artie, flawed as he is.

Obligatory Deadwood mention just so that it doesn't go forgotten. Although I'm assuming Mad Men will win, which I'm fine with, even if Don Draper doesn't have the makings of a varsity athlete.

Artie recommitting to his own roots and himself (ironically with an honest talk from Tony being an impetus), while Tony and Chris continue to fracture under the weight of being tied to their own roots is a great centerpiece of the episode. Artie is fortunate ultimately. He may never be completely fullfilled, but at the very least he has the foundation and lack of baggage that Chris and Tony have to find some sort of peace. Adriana was not so fortunate and I like that the show is continuing to use her to haunt both of them. This show was always in big part about psychic scars.

Of course his one win is against Benny.
He gets punched by Chris during the intervention, beaten to a pulp by Phil, and loses a fight to Artie.

I have to agree with Lola about the ending. There’s something about Artie looking over his grandfathers recipes, all handwritten in Italian, with genuine love of the craft that is quite moving.
This is THE Artie episode for me, after we have seen 6 seasons-worth of a decline into ego and pettiness, fuelled by his insecurities and self-pity in comparison to his friend Tony. In the end, after he has hit yet-another rock bottom, he finally allows his ego to die, and rediscovers the thing he truly loves and is talented at. After all the pain and self-inflicted humiliation, seeing him accept his role as a chef is very satisfying.
He will never be like Tony or any of the mobsters he grew up with and compared himself to, and all there is to do now is accept this, and return to the reason he owns a restaurant in the first place.
‘Recuerdos de la Alhambra’ is the classical Spanish guitar piece at the end, such a beautiful piece of music that fits perfectly over the ending.
There is no single other person who is able to talk to Tony the way Artie does and get away with it. He beat up a soldier in his family and suffered zero consequences, and in fact was given more business because of it. He borrowed $50,000 from Tony and essentially got away with not paying it back. Despite Tony’s manipulative, predatory nature as a “hawk” as Artie himself pointed out, Artie really is Tony’s only true friend in this world. Chris,Silvio, Bobby are loyal as business associates and may be called friends, but Artie is the only one who’s relationship isn’t built on a boss/underling transactional dynamic.

Artie finally got to win a fight! His first win in the entire series so far!
The notebook Artie uses at the end has the recipes from his GRANDfather. His grandfather was the one who opened the original "Vesuvio" restaurant that was burned down in the first episode. So Artie going to those recipes shows him going back to the very beginning of his family cooking.
I did once have a problem with an overly-talkative restaurateur. It was an Italian restaurant and the owner came over to our table as we were eating our entrées. He was a nice guy, but the rules of courtesy meant we couldn't eat until he left and it kept us all from our food for what felt like forever. It was only the one time, but it does make the whole meal awkward.
I love how completely out of their class Chris and Carmine are in LA. They think they're such big Players, so jumped up on being "soldiers" and "captains" and the sad little kings of their sad little hills. But these actors -- who aren't even the richest actors around -- are so much more famous and wealthy than they are EVER going to be. And all their reputation doesn't cut any water in this different world.
Similar to when AJ learned that his girlfriend came from a rich-rich family, after he spent the whole episode talking about how hard it was to be "rich" like his family. These guys act like the kings of world, but in our society they're really just big fish in tiny ponds.

That ending is one of my favourites honestly. Almost gets me teary sometimes just thinking about it. The entirety of season 6 is something else man. You can probably argue some previous seasons are better technically but this one's my favourite easily.
