i really like how both Shiratorizawa setters, Semi and Shirabu as well as Tendou and even Ushijima were confused as to why Hinata wasn't invited because they do recognize his potential and see him as a threat on the court despite Hinata not knowing the basics yet, it's so sweet to me because it shows they respect him as an opponent. also, it's not as spelled out in the anime, but Kageyama was using Hoshiumi as a reference for Hinata because he believes that Hinata can surpass Hoshiumi with the right training, hence the you can fly even higher. their relationship is so so special, like someone else said, they're soulmates frfr. and, in the manga, the scene with Hinata and Kindaichi and Kunimi is translated better too, he reassures Kindaichi that fighting between FRIENDS is normal and it's all okay in the end, they were children, and the usage of the word friend i think took kindaichi back because of how everything played out. on that note, kunimi is such a good friend to kindaichi, too, since he shoved him to prevent him from further spiraling down the past. so sweet.

Some may find characters badass for their place in their respective works while analyzed at face value they are despicable characters. And the list is long, Tony Montana is a famous example, Vic Mackey, Dexter, Hannibal Lecter, Walter White, Homeländer, Littlefinger ...

2025-03-18 07:30:31 +0000 UTCKindaichi will always be one of those characters I wish we got a little more time with to dive deeper into his mindset. I LOVE how effected he and Kageyama both were by the junior high incident and they both feel guilt over the situation. It's also very clear that Kindaichi WANTS to talk to Kageyama and have a relationship with him but he is also still very much hurt by the situation to open up to Kageyama about it. But he's such a good kid that he still wanted to know if Kageyama was doing okay, such an interesting side character. Kageyama and Hinata are literally the definition of soulmates, no words are really needed between them for them to understand each other and I loved how Kageyama already knew how important being a ball boy was for Hinata, I also love his confidence in Hinata, him saying "You can fly even higher", always makes me smile.
