I think most reactors got confused because they never truly understood what Kageyama's actual story arc was supposed to be, so another character saying this to him in a negative light made reactors not understand.

If Oikawa would have set the ball lower for Kindaichi, he would be a "goody two shoes" according to Miya. I think you girls hit the nail on the head with your disscusion at the end! When to push and when not to.

I think a great example of what is, and what is not a "A goody two shoes" is that scene on S2 with Oikawa and Kindaichi. Kindaichi is thinking that Oikawa is setting to high for him, and he asks for the set to be lower, Oikawa tells him to please keep trying to hit at that heigh, and because of that Kindaichi is able to hit over the block on the matches.

So there are two separate animation "issues' that people are failing to distinguish. There is the deliberate change in art style, which you may or may not like depending on your preference, but which is nevertheless deliberate. Then there are the quality issues which pop up now and again caused by the pandemic. Those are pretty bad at times. There are a few episodes in particular a bit later on in which some of the characters get mutilated so badly that it can be hard to watch at times.

the lazy guy and pineapple guy were former Kageyama's teammates and they are still playing with Oikawa. They both argued with Kageyama...during his time in the junior high school he got angry with the lazy guy because he didn't run behind a ball, but in the match against Karasuno he was the one with the more stored energy in the final set

kunimi and kindaichi are both kageyama's former teammates from seijoh, and kunimi is actually probably the second best player there besides goshiki (the shiratorizawa 1st year), so hinata staring at him and learning to make receives higher from him is HUGE (it'll come back later), and kogane from date tech starting the episode disliking kunimi but ending it by staring at him with hinata basically means that he understands and respects the way he does things now, which is so wholesome and so haikyuu. there is not one ultimate way to be great, and every character learns to understand different perspectives and techniques in the end. can't wait for next episode!!! I'll save my comments on atsumu and the goody two shoes comment for later lmao <3

no the studio didn't change. the director changed but who knows what other projects might have just popped up in the 4 year gap between season 3 and 4. they made the decision to try and emulate the manga art style more, and frankly i think the fandom overreacted to that despite still being delivered a quality season even during the worst of the pandemic.
