2025-01-20 05:47:09 +0000 UTCthis is my second favorite team alongside seijoh and karasuno of course, and their dynamic is actually so silly and cute and so are the characters on the team (mostly in the manga though, since they cut out a lot of their team moments from the anime). they're all lovable though, so i can't wait for you to see more of them and the match itself which actually goes CRAZY, there are so many good plays and moments!!!! can't wait for the next episode <3

2025-01-20 00:43:16 +0000 UTCSo to clear up the confusion: Number 1 on Shiratorizawa is named Ushijima Wakatoshi which, when spliced together can be made to spell Ushi-Waka or Ushiwaka which is the childhood name of a very famous samurai from around the 12th century, since Ushijima is so impressive and powerful people have started calling him that "Ushiwaka" informally. The Benkei thing refers to the original Ushiwaka's companion, his right-hand man. In the legend, Ushiwaka has a close friend/partner named Benkei and so, since everyone started referring to Ushijima as Ushiwaka, the natural question was then: "Well then, who's his Benkei?"
