2025-01-18 03:10:32 +0000 UTCThere is an ova for season 2 that is mainly about them preparing for exams, i think it's very cute and you will definitely enjoy it a lot. The ova isn't really that important to the main plot, but i think i would be nice to watch it before season 3 as a small break.

2025-01-17 12:52:07 +0000 UTCYep, that wouldn't be a problem if Final Movie 1 had been 2 hours long. But since it was only 85 minutes long, 35 minutes of material was cut out. I think that's a real shame. Final Movie 2 just scares me. I hope so much that they only adapt chapters 326 - 369 in 2 hours. I want to see the rest (370-402) stretched out over 24 episodes in a 5th season. The manga is so fast-paced in this section that you can use those 34 chapters to fill 24 episodes. And the last Story Arc is sooo good! I still have to smirk about the fact that Attack on Titan Chapters 131-139 (9 chapters) also got a 90 minute feature film (Last Attack = Final Season Part 3). Admittedly, a Haikyuu chapter is shorter than an Attack on Titan chapter, but still, it's not that much shorter :D

(yes, because this entire cast is the best in anime. period.) so i'm just gonna add one more thing. the thread of fate is subtle throughout this series. it's silent but sometimes it screams at your face when you least expect it, especially as a multiple-time viewer/reader of haikyuu. i forget this sometimes but watching that seijoh special episode, especially the hajime and tooru scene, reminded me of this: there are people that are really meant to meet and be at each other's lives then change it for the better. and stay for the better. and grow for the better. you can meet them as a child, whether as a new friend or a neighborhood playmate or a savior from playground bullies. you can meet them during times of heartbreak, whether as a fierce and better opponent on the other side of the net or as a genius junior who's a walking reminder of your failures and shortcomings. you can meet them simply by getting lost while running or sharing a blood with them or being goaded and pushed into practicing with them despite reluctance. maybe i'm just rambling but what i'm saying is these characters are meant to meet and become a new version of themselves right after. quickly or slowly, they will never be the same once they meet and i think that's beautiful. they're all soulmates in my eyes. all different dynamics between different characters-- tobio & shoyo, iwa & oiks, tobio & karasuno, shoyo & kenma, oiks & tobio, tsukki & tokyo gym 3, yamaguchi & tsukki, kuroo & kenma-- i can name a hundred different pairs and dynamics and all of them are so special. and lola & milena are just starting. can't wait to cry with you more!

2025-01-17 06:49:55 +0000 UTCall i can really say is, i agree with your discussion on all fronts and i think you guys understand these characters FLAWLESSLY, i'm genuinely so impressed by your emotional intelligence. what i will say about oikawa though, is that while he does work hard out of pride and spite kind of, he's also very fiercely loyal, a lot more than people give him credit for. sure, he did went to seijoh to fight ushijima, but he also went there to fight him with iwaizumi, his best friend, and with the rest of his close friends he genuinely loves, and you can tell how much he really stands by them and they stand by him no matter what and it's beautiful to see. that final declaration from iwa to oikawa you get to see once again how despite all the banter, he genuinely does love oikawa as a friend and stands by him no matter what and viceversa, and you're so right that it could definitely apply to kageyama and hinata as well since both duos share such a special bond with each other that no one else in their lives can compare to. can't wait for you to meet shiratorizawa!!!! without spoilers, what i'll say on them is that all teams on haikyuu are close friends, and though the anime adaptation deleted a lot of bonding time between the members of the team, you do get to see the gist of their dynamic and i think you'll really like it and the characters you'll get to meet!!! :)

Which chapters or storylines need to be cut? What needs to be parried down? Where do we focus the budget? How do we pay all these employees? What do we have time for? They made a choice to cut the seijoh content to set up the next arc

2025-01-17 02:51:32 +0000 UTCOn why they didn't include the scene at the end I think it's because with the time they had for the episode it made more sense naratively to focus on Karasuo simply because it's necessary to set up the next arc neatly and build hype for the following season. That being said I've watched Haikyuu 5 times now and I only found out about this scene from the comments the other week and am gutted we were robbed of such beautiful scenes. The moment Iwaizumi said he "couldn't be more proud" I literally couldn't stop sobbing if I wanted to. Although I absolutely adore the way this show paints healthy competition and the desire for self improvement, what I think I love most is just how beautiful the depiction of friendships are. Whether it's Iwaizumi to Oikawa or Hinata to Kageyama the way they just lay out their feelings bare to the other is so inspirational and is something I strive for in my own relationships. S tier show and S tier season.
