In a lesser show, the episode called Team would be about our main characters but it's actually about the oddball on the opponent finding his place in the team. Having Yahaba be the one to actually face him and TALK TO HIM not Talk behind him like his previous team. Then you have Yahaba cheering the loudest when Mad-Dog scored. That's a team right there, I LOVE IT.

2025-01-11 01:20:57 +0000 UTCthis episode is what consolidated Aoba Johsai as my favorite team on the entire series tbh. Oikawa and Iwaizumi's friendship, loyalty and love extends not only to each other, but to everyone else, and therefore everyone else's friendship, love and loyalty is reciprocated to every single member no matter what - they're sort of a found family of sorts who will support and uplift each other no matter what, despite all the banter and teasing, and they extended all of that to Kyoutani despite him being so closed off without a doubt. Yahaba specifically, said all of that to him to make him realize they are rooting for him the same way they root for each other, and to help them win. the translation for the monologue the guy from the public gym tells him in the manga includes the word "friends" instead of teammates, and i think that's a really important message furudate wanted to convey too. this team is made up of people who will ultimately be bonded for life, no matter what, and i think that's actually beautiful. i'm so happy you enjoyed it as much as i did!! we can always trust you guys to understand and appreciate these characters and their story lines so incredibly well.

Being able to find a place where ppl will accept you for who you are and work with you through the ups and downs is incredibly special and I love that Mad Dog got that in Seijoh.
