2024-12-28 04:12:34 +0000 UTCThis might be my favourite episode so far, wow so many beautiful moments that flesh out things from both the current and past timelines. The parallels between the Frieren/Fern/Stark timeline and the Party of Heroes time has been one of the best aspects of the show for me and this episode was utter perfection in that regard. I find Serie to be a fascinating character so far and I hope we see more of her, the way she instantly asks Fern to become her student is very telling, she obviously actually respects human mages a lot and sees Fern as a new Flamme type mage which I suspect is why she opened her school in the first place

2024-12-28 01:40:54 +0000 UTC@Robert -- If done correctly, Frieren is the type of show that could easily blend in a few anime original stories depicting parts of their journey that we weren't privy to in the manga, so I feel like a new season is easily attainable no matter how many chapters are out. That being said, the storytelling for filler would need to be on par with everything else. Filler or no filler, I hope the next season will be treated with the same amount of love as this one, no matter how long it takes to come out.

Only ones I've seen cry seeing the second ending for the first time, like myself. I'll miss your reactions to Frieren almost as much as you'll miss Frieren itself.

2024-12-27 23:39:08 +0000 UTCThis is my favorite episode of the season, i few like i could spend hours just talking about it lol I really love how this show does basically "inverted plot twists" through the flashbacks. For me, the flashback with child Himnel recontextualized everything that happened prior. It changed how i view Himmel's love for Frieren and also added a lot of meaning to episode 2 (it makes sense now why Frieren was so dedicated to cast that spell around his statue). This show always does these things. It gradually adds information that drastically affect how you perceive things that happened before. Going back to the first eps you realize there was SO MUCH reason behinh every little action Frieren took and we had no idea. Also, Serie is like my second favorite character of the show. I believe the whole reason she created this Magic Association is because she is constantly searching for a "second Flamme". Maybe the cause is someone else even older than Flamme (Serie backstory is a mystery and a i havent read the manga), but Serie is obsessed with finding a student that could surpass her own power. I think that is why she is so dissapoited at Frieren, because she has the talent and time to overcome Serie, but simply does not care enough to put in the effort (from Serie perspective).

2024-12-27 23:37:21 +0000 UTCBut given the length and distance of the journey so far and the open storylines for the characters, we can expect to end the story with at least 240 chapters and up to 360 chapters. 4 to 6 seasons is therefore to be assumed, although I really hope for 240 chapters. I love the story, but I'm worried that if the story is stretched out because of its success, it will lose its depth.

The opening at around 1:10 actually shows how she lives on throughout the ages while those around her pass away.

Yes I think the A.I. which writes GameRant articles must have been trained on so often seeing "haitus" next to "author's health".. especially if it were trained on HxH articles. I like the speculation that the hiatus is because this is the final chapter of the year for the best story in anime and manga history, aka when contracts expire, and the authors probably want a raise. But goodness knows, in the least it's reassuring to know hiatus has happened before and will likely be recovered from!

But almost everything she says is petty and dishonest about her feelings. She calls the flower spell useless but she conducts the final test in a huge garden staring at the flowers more than looking at the test takers. She calls hiding your mana useless but she's also been doing it. She's says she shouldn't take on human students, but she's created an entire human school of magic to take on more students. And immediately tries to take fern as soon as she learns her potential. She's such an interesting character. Part of her is a lot kinder and warmer than she let's on. But hides it behind a cold petty, aloof exteerior

The manga has always had short breaks of a few weeks to 3 months in the last two years, but always because of storyboard ideas, supporting work in the anime or family. Many fans suspect that they are currently helping out with season 2 at Madhouse.

So even when you finish you'll be less than halfway through the story. But the bad news is that sadly the manga is now suddenly on hiatus for unknown reasons (speculation of S2 anime work since no health reasons were cited).
