Flamme has convinced the leadership in the Empire, the largest country on the continent at the time, that magic needs to be studied by humans. She created the organization of Imperial Mages, Denken is one. Her dream is that everyone learns magic, that everyone uses magic for small things. Serie's Continental Magic Association is structured in such a way that only the best get the right to learn from her, to get a spell from her according to their wishes. In her organization, magic is still something special that not everyone should receive.

This grandma elf really be honoring her student will with a mere thousand year delay. Btw, as funny as the idea of using a mimic to defeat the replica is, i think it makes sense no one mentioned that. As much as Frieren likes to act silly, she actually is very intelligent. She would never fall for that in a serious situation with her life at risk.

I've long had a fascination in how seemingly eternal life would affect a mind and how you deal with certain unavoidable things like death and loss. Serie is a great study in how one adapts and keep moving under such circumstances. Wisdom paired with self deception on an enormous scale.

2024-12-14 01:41:32 +0000 UTCSeeing a young Frieren full of hope, looking forward to seeing the future, excited to see all kinds of mages and spells made me so sad, and at the same time so happy. She had to wait 1000 years to finally experience having people who love her by her side again after Flammes death. If only she knew that a group of 3 guys would one day come for her in a mere 1000 years and make her go out on a journey that would forever change her life. If only she knew those same 3 guys would help her eventually meet Fern and Stark one day. She was all alone for 1000 years. She must have felt very sad and very lonely, but not anymore. I’m sure that even in the far future, when Fern and Stark aren’t here anymore, she won’t be alone. I always like to think that maybe she will be accompanied by Fern and Starks family tree for a very very long time, for centuries to come.

I would have found it very funny if one of them had used Lola's idea of putting a Mimik in front of Frieren's clone. :D Unfortunately that's not the case. 2024-12-14 01:23:36 +0000 UTCWith Frieren's fatal flaw, on rewatching this series you see how in the Scharf (metal flower magic) vs Land fight at the start of the mage exams Land mentions how "Original spells like that often neglect the basics", followed by saying "You must be bad at detecting mana." The clever author always sneaks in information like that and then comes back to it.
