I love how much you understand the characters. A lot of the things you said will have a completion or will be brought up again and they are things not many people notice.

Who knows

I agree that no movie or series is real. It is easier for me to suspend disbelief with actual human actors (not just the voice). It almost impossible for me to suspend disbelief with a cartoon. Maybe my lack of imagination. I can suspend disbelief easier reading a book that watching a cartoon. I am not sure why. In the 1970s, I read sci-fi/fantasy books and enjoyed them. I can tell you examples of people moved so much by a cartoon scene and I felt nothing. I prefer human actors (not just the voice) and physical settings. Cartoon characters can be drawn/generated with human expression and movement, but I prefer facial expression and physical movement of actual human actors. With that said, I can enjoy cartoons -- just generally not a top choice. I don't know why, but no matter the story, dialogue, or sound of the voice, I find it difficult being responsive/emotive with animated characters/settings like with actual human actors and physical settings. My loss. Again, I am unsure why -- after all, none of it is real -- animated or not animated -- it's all acting. Maybe with non-animated stuff (actual human actors -- not just the voice), I am moved more by the actual human face/movement and in that context, can more easily suspend disbelief. I turned age 30 in 1993 and the only animated stuff I watched back then was a few episodes of Beavis and Butt-Head, The Ren & Stimpy Show, and King of the Hill -- enjoyed all three of those cartoons.

I get what you mean but it's like someone saying ''Why would I get attached to a character in a movie when real people exist. They're fictional, I don't get it.'' That doesn't make sense right? I know that it's probably because you're just not used to animation but you just said you're a fan of Ghibli so I don't see how you can't be invested on cartoon characters the same way you can be invested on any fictional character.

Joe, good points. Robert, thanks for the advice. I will try Frieren. I feel like I may be missing out. While I can appreciate the animation itself, I’ve never been into animation as a form of storytelling — i have a hard time connecting with the characters. However, I will say that I am a fan of Studio Ghibli. So are my kids.

Clay F

Try Frieren. I think it's a perfect show to get into anime.

they come in pairs, do not separate

It'd be the same reason a person like a disney movie, comic book, or even regular books. You can't even get a picture in a novel, yet people connect incredibly deeply to them. This is just another avenue of storytelling. What I personally like about animation in general is the fact that expression can go beyond what a human actor can express, whether it be the fantastical enviornments or animation letting people be even more expressive than what is possible in live action.

Not rude at all. Good patrons should give feedback and ask questions. They are big girls — intelligent adults — they can handle it. That face with odd features on the thumbnail doesn’t really even look like a normal human. I guess you have to use your imagination.

Clay F

fun fact, different people like different things. kinda rude to comment that on something the girls are clearly so emotional over

Elle

I've never watched anime. When I look at the odd face of that cartoon character in the thumbnail, I wonder how I would ever connect with a cartoon character, especially compared to an actual human actor (not just the voice).

oikawa mentioned <3

hinata and kageyama's bond is so special in that it's not necessarily conventional, but they understand each other on a fundamental level and more than anybody else. they're so special to each other and it's very palpable. also, that moment with kuroo thinking of his coach and teaching tsukki and hinata because of him doesn't get enough recognition. for all of his teasing and taunting, he genuinely is very kind-hearted as a person. can't wait for next episode!!

bella

Like this video ! We need a like army !

MichaelChiklisCares

Based. Oikawa haunts the narrative.

Salvatore

Kageyama and Hinata's relationship has me welling up every episode ffs, Hinata is too pure for this world SO so happy Kuroo is getting the recognition he deserves, he's honestly top 5 for me in a show where I love everyone more than life. S2 is for me at least when this show really hits its stride, this training camp arc has so many beautiful character moments I just can't <3

Kya Colosseum

And Kuroo is the Captain of Nekoma. So he his #1.

Robert H.

Kageyama throwing Hinata is his version of saying “I love you”

Lol Lola I know. The first piece of anime merch I ever bought was a Kuroo key chain. He has this awesome, mentor, big brother, teacher vibe that's hard to replicate

Karabo

Just wanted to point out that even though Kageyama and Hinata aren't speaking, we never really see them stray too far from each other, like they are always still close to each other during their drills or when they are eating they are sitting right next to each other. It's so cute to me. Also Bokuto and Kuroo are breathes of fresh air. Kuroo is the very definition of a "Big Brother", I think he genuinely just doesn't like to see anyone not enjoying the sport their playing, so he makes it his job to help that person enjoy it and that is the most sweetest thing ever.

Tsuki is in my second place in my top of favorites characters. My number one is Oikawa. For my third place to be hones is really hard. But I choose Daichi.

You mentioned in the full length ‘how does suga notice everything’ ‘because he’s emotionally intelligent’ and while that’s absolutely the case, I think in particular he has a strong affection for Hinata. It’s one of those things that is right in front of you, but when you notice just how many scenes there are of Suga specifically looking after Hinata you can’t unsee it. After Kageyama he’s definitely the person in the show who cares most about Hinata.

Jay Craig

Yes, precisely! This show just gives you life and completely pumps you up with positivity.

If Milena is getting Hinata's number, Lola needs to get Kageyama's number. And if Milena is getting Yamaguchi's number, then Lola needs to get Tsukki's number. That's a must, I won't accept something else.

Lixien

Jerseys were inevitable, was wondering how long it was going to go until it was settled aha
