The world is falling apart. Trump is winning in the USA, the German government is collapsing and there seem to be protests against the government in Serbia. Do you have a Severance Reaction to switch off? :D

The OVA vs falling grades covers basically the timeskip the episode did at the start!
Also Hinata got his answers right, he just put them on the wrong in order on the sheet, poor guy, that's why Yachi was crying at the start.
Hinata and Kageyama's quick attack is the foundation of Karasuno. Hinata honestly should not be even playing. He should be learning how to receive and the basics, but because we need him, we need his fast attacks, we are kind of stunting him? I mean, what kind of coach would let one of his players have his eyes closed? But again, we need him, it was so effective at the start, it's only now at this level that Hinata is realizing the quick is not invincible. And we literally saw what would happen if they don't have the quick, Karasuno would be an average team. Not bad, but no great either. Not good enough to compete on a national level.
The Team needs to rely not only on Hinata and Kageyama's attacks, totally agree.
Lev has a lot of potential, that's what's scary, now it depends on him if he wants to put it to use, and he seems really giving it his all!!
Lev thinking that the ace is the one that scores the most is very..childish? Because he is not realizing the ace is also the player that has the more pressure, the one that everyone is counting on, he who carries their team on their back: "when the receiving gets rough, you toss to the ace" and everyone knows it, your team and the opposite team too, and you need to be able to still make the point. That is such a tough position.
I just want to point out Hinata was thinking about that he needed to change, and get better before he even spoke with Lev. Just by realizing that the good teams were able to stop the freak attack, he already was starting to think in how to get better.
I think is like you said such a thin line between Ego and Ambition. And specially from the outside? Like if you are not inside the person's head, how can you difference if their actions are due to ego or due to their desire to be better? I think maybe in their attitude? If it's arrogant vs determined.
I really love this storyline, because it's so rare for ambition to be painted in a positive light, and we'll, you saw FMAB, you know there's a difference between Envy and Greed, even though they are very alike. We all need greed for evolution, and to get the things we desire.
I think the little giant was mad at himself, because he was not playing well and he knew it. Not because he was benched.
I always though that the little giant looked similar to Hinata because we are seeing this through how Hinata imagines what Saeko is telling him. And he sees himself at the little giant.
Oikawa is not ace of his team, he is the leader and captain, but Iwaizumi is the Ace. He is the best friend of Oikawa, the one always hitting him but worrying about him.
Can't wait for the next 2 episodes!!
