There is a difference between "loving a character" and loving the character study. Christopher is in my opinion one of the best TV show characters of all time. But I would be careful of saying that "I love him", you know. In real life I would hate the guy, he's incredibly flawed. The girls (most likely) may not like Christopher throughout the whole show but may love the character study or the writing of the character.

I think him talking Italian and them not understanding is to show us they are outsiders. It is a few years since I last watched the show and I am enjoying Carmela more at this stage than I expected. Looking forward to her future plotlines.
