Usually season 2’s are like only 12 episodes so I wouldn’t be surprised if Frieren s2 only covered the Macht arc

2024-09-21 18:15:30 +0000 UTCI once came up with the idea that because Monster lost to Haikyuu, we should watch a crime/thriller anime like Banana Fish, Odd Taxi, Pluto, Psycho Pass (Season 1) or Erased after Frieren. But I think it would be good to have another big list of anime ranked by the Patreon people, which is why I would want to do a Short Anime Strawpoll like at the beginning of the year, so that Lola and Milena know which anime there is a lot of interest in.

2024-09-21 02:40:11 +0000 UTC~24 ep anime seasons that are as polished and ambitious as frieren usually take about 2 yrs of production so 2026 is a decent bet for s2. frieren’s adaptation was a perfect storm of a great director/staff + talented freelancers so getting that team aligned again might add to the wait. the series director keiichriou saitou is also in charge of another anime so who knows which is prioritized. as for vinland i wouldnt expect anything til 2026 as well. mappa still hasnt officially confirmed s3 in production yet unfortunately 😔

I heard that at least some of the information from that leak was found to be less than credible, so I just wrote the whole thing off. In hindsight, I probably shouldn't have just assumed everything was false, but it's hard to verify leaks until the info is proven true.

There was a leak, whereby the internal productions in a few anime studios were revealed, of which Frieren was also one of them. With Vinland Saga, we are still in a black box. I imagine Mappa is using most of the animators for Chainsaw Man and Jujutsu Kaisen right now, and Vinland Saga is getting the short end of the stick, which I honestly can't understand since Vinland Saga Season 2 was a huge success despite a few fans being disappointed with the genre change. Unfortunately, the Japanese are really good at keeping secrets. I'm always amazed at how Nintendo manages to hold back big games practically 3 months before release so that nobody knows they were even in development.
