Personally, I watched the show in dub. Frieren's english voice is much more mature and better conveys her age.

I was initially confused by the surname “Abe” because it reminded me of Rainbow Nisha, which was written by the already deceased Naoya Abe (82 years old) and illustrated by Masasumi Kakizaki.

2024-07-27 01:07:04 +0000 UTCI think Stark's voice in the English dub fits the character much more. I think Frieren and Fern are great in both. But I think Stark works much better in the English dub. If you get a chance to rewatch this episode with the English dub, I'd recommend it.

So it access the memory of ones who hold dearest to you, and for the longest time for Frieren it was her master, Flamme, but now it changed to Himmel 👀

Frieren carries Himmel with her the most. Fern Carries Hieter with her the most And Stark carries Eisen with him the most One of the many reasons I love this show.

2024-07-27 00:18:00 +0000 UTCSomeone please correct me if I'm wrong but "front-liner" can be taken quite literally, they mean someone who essentially fights in the front lines when it's time for combat. It's very common in fantasy-like settings for traveling parties to have different people who have specific roles assigned to them especially when it comes to fighting scenarios. But in the end it's not an important detail that needs to be remembered in this show so it doesn't matter that much. And with this comment I'll officially shut up and release everyone from my yapping, go in peace. I hope everyone has a (hopefully) pleasant weekend :3

2024-07-26 23:44:23 +0000 UTCThe fact that "fighting for another" is what gets defined as what makes a good warrior and not - for example - being the strongest or brave is another of the many things that stood out to me from this episode. It's a very simple but very meaningful message. Frieren is such a special show, from the way it conveys time, the soundtrack, the messages it speaks and many many other things, I love it so much. When I first started it I remember being almost afraid of being let down by a highly hyped show but not only it managed to capture me instantly, it went beyond what I expected from it and for that I'm extremely grateful to all the people that contributed to this show ❤️
