HH Episode 142 Reaction

There's no way they survive Part 3 lmao

Isaac

I love JoJo's Bizarre Adventure so very much, but I'm not so sure it's their type of show lol

Vulhorn

If u think Togashi is on drugs just wait for Araki. We demand Jojos!!!!!!

Sebastian Vidal

I actually thought it was really interesting to tie in the election with the backdrop of Gon's healing. He even worked it in to the final result. Really cool writing.

Alpha

In my opinion, the small track list for the OST is borderline unacceptable. It's unreal how overused many songs are in a production this long because the pool is so small.

Isaac

Not worth if you are not watching it on a cinema set up tbh

Dario Campos

Are you guys going to do movie reaction. Dune part 1 and 2 would be great

Jesse S

Talking down to your interlocutors is a poor rhetorical strategy.

AE

Agreed, I know Killua is a more important character/baby boy or whatever but the King still has the best character journey I've seen in anime or at least in this show

Happy

Yeah I was referencing Gino

^ Give up on this idea that they can't condense the expositions. Of course they can. Compliment it with good visual storytelling and it'll be more digestible. You'd have to be completely incompetent to think this isn't possible. Anyone who gets into this discussion with me ultimately realizes I'm right. I'll give you something to process, here's why a new rendition actually makes sense : - It'll introduce the series to a whole new audience. A lot of people are reluctant to start the show precisely because of the # of episodes. Why would they? Modern shounens are so binge worthy despite being generic garbage. In comparison, HxH 2011 has a boring, censorship filled slow start. That alone is a barrier of entry in this tiktok attention span generation. But, if it's fresh and relevant seasonal anime, no censorship, with modern caliber production and tight pacing, all of a sudden the Hunter Exam will really pop. The anime will catch more eyes. That's on top of the die hard fans who'll be tuning in regardless, guaranteeing its success. So right there, you have financial incentives. For both Togashi, and the studio taking on the project. - It gives Togashi time to actually finish the current arc. Given a seasonal schedule like JJK / Chainsaw Man, by the time that hyphothetical anime catches up to the Succesion War Arc, it'd be long finished. A continuation just wouldn't make sense anytime soon. - EVERYTHING CAN LITERALLY BE DONE BETTER. LMFAO. If you disagree with this you are simply wrong. This isn't a debate. The pacing could be better. The animation. The direction. The art style. The OPs, EDs, the soundtrack. EVERYTHING CAN BE BETTER, provided you have the right people working on the project and they do it right. The 2011 anime is looking more and more outdated. Not just production wise, but its lack of good artistic choices.

I was responding to Ryan, but if you were referencing Gino to begin with fair enough, I stand corrected.

You're the one that needs to think before you comment. Like you brought up FMA:B and One Piece as examples that there's demand and inclinations from studios to do a new adaption. FMAB came out literally over a decade ago because the original series ended poorly and diverged too much from the manga so they adapted a new one to have an actual adaption with the real vision. Doesn't apply to Hxh obviously. One Piece is so massive and bigger than both mangas, of course it's getting another adaption by popular demand...it has more demand. There's a reason it has a netflix live action and many more movies before Hxh even got like two. I also don't know what to tell you if you think they're changing exposition style just because of a new adaption (that isn't happening any time soon), that's some wishful thinking. It's part of Togashi's writing. It was literally in the manga. This isn't the case like FMAB where the animes deviated massively. "HxH’s manga has a completely different flow than the anime. " It flowed faster during some parts (I know the CA arc flowed faster and smoother) but by and large most of the arcs stayed the same. Outside of the kite introduction which was indeed terrible in the 2011 version and the early couple of episodes being super rushed similar to the early FMAB early episodes, the core story beats of the all the arcs (the strengths and flaws) pretty much remained the same.

Veya

This is my favourite arc as well. I just adore killua’s journey, and what Alluka represents, and the Zoldyck family is my favourite group in hunter x hunter, so it’s the one thing that was at the back of my mind since the initial reveal with killua and illumi at the hunter exam.

Harfie

^ It absolutely is guaranteed lmfao. The reason why the 2011’s pacing was so trash is because it came out WEEKLY. The staff had to stretch it out to fit their schedule. Seasonals like JJK and MHA are done more efficiently and closer to source. HxH’s manga has a completely different flow than the anime. You guys need to THINK before you comment.

SoClose

SoClose, you automatically assume that a new rendition would be better, have better pacing, etc. None of that is guaranteed... In any case, whatever they choose to do, I hope some new content comes out again.

ODIS

@Veya you’re wrong. Good script revisions could definitely make the lengthy expositions more digestible. That’s not even debatable. Authors have editors to help them do just that.

SoClose

The only reason anyone wouldn’t want a new rendition is because you lack vision. You probably think Yorknew and CA was adapted to its true potential. With its garbage pacing, subpar direction, lack of good visual storytelling, uninspired spoilery openings with a song that doesn’t fit the theme of the arc. HxH is my favorite shounen hands down. Maybe the 2011 anime did enough for your low standards, but not for me. If you watch it with a critical eye, there’s too many things it can do better. I mean, just watch the 99’ anime’s OP 2 and tell me that gothic style didn’t fit Yorknew Arc better. The list goes on.

A new adaptation won’t change exposition. That’s directly in the manga. Togashi has mentioned he wants more text exposition because of the manga medium. I agree it dumbs things down and can use restraint but it’s not changing if they’re adapting a new version. Also the cartoonish bright color palette fits the earlier part of the series better. One thing that made the CA arc so shocking was precisely because the 2011 anime started out like pokemon. The 1999 version gave it away to early that it’s a darker more subversive series and the tone was more monotonous because of it. I like the tone transition and contrast in the 2011 better.

Veya

Thank God they won't react to the maga and God willing they won't make a remake of the anime, we just want new episodes lol

Wallas

I understand your excitement about this arc, especially with killua's story, it's also one of my favorites, but it's a small story, we can't compare it to everything we had in the ant arc. It wasn't just about the ants vs. humans but we also had the biggest moments for Killua and Gon in the entire show... Anyway, very sad that the end is near, I can't believe we've come this far

Wallas

Manga reactions are kind of meh though. I’ve seen one other channel do it but it doesn’t have the same energy or enjoyment. I highly doubt they want to add on their workload to do that. I also still don’t understand the super kurapika glazing which I’ve only seen on this channel lol. He’s a cool character but ultimately still pretty simplistic in motivation and characterization. I hope the current manga arc expands or deepens him more.

Veya

Yes we know, as a non-native English speaker for me the funny part is him translating a saying directly into English, but the meme comes from that clip. It's not just the saying it's that whole clip

bondbond53

That quote has existed forever, Gino just popularized it. Even in hispanic countries it existed.

Gaboxxy

I hope we don’t get a new rendition. That would be such a waste but then again the new arc would be such a challenge to adapt since is not a lot of action and is very dialogue heavy… plus at that point HunterxHunter is more of a Seinen that a Shounen but we gonna see…

Jack SV

I’m pretty sure the acclaim of the ant arc goes beyond whether people cared more about killua or the king’s journey though. It was just more complex and ambitious compared to the other hxh arcs. Also i personally found myself caring more about the king and komugi because, the king especially, is a more unique and complex character. That’s what stood out to me on a first watch.

Veya

Given how much you glaze Kurapika, and you already know he’s basically the MC of the current arc, if you ever wanna go for a manga reaction, we’d be here for that. BUT, i would just refrain. I really have a feeling that we’ll get a new HxH anime announced in the next 5 years. Not a continuation, a complete new rendition. A different take. With better animation / direction / art style / color palette / pacing. The demand is there.

SoClose

It’s a shame they are pre-filming the rest of the show weeks in advance. I like it when they can respond to comments or information messaged here in the videos, especially at the end of a series.

Darrach

Thank you! Don’t get me wrong I like Killua but Gon for me it’s a better character for me for the same reasons you just mentioned.

Jack SV

Veya

Ngl now that I think about it.. I don’t like how Togashi tried to tied the election with the conflict with Killua’s family lol he could’ve kept those things totally separate and the arc would’ve been still the same. Great arc still (๑˃̵ᴗ˂̵)

Jack SV

These two girlshave grown up so much on me...I really love them

Adrian Fernández Castells

Hisoka doesn't enjoy fights with weak people, Illumi and Hisoka help each other. Illumi helped Hisoka during the hunter exam and during Phantom Troupe arc (he took his place when he left the group to fight Chrollo)

Yū Nishinoya

I think you have to grant 3 requests but you can't refuse 4. The thing about Milluki's computer, Killua's wish and who makes the requests is well explained later

Yū Nishinoya

Gotoh just didn't listen when he was told about the properties of rubber and gum in Hisoka's Bungee gum...

Junkboy

Holy sh*t, amazing reference hahahaha 🤣👏👏👏
