Growing Your Business: Organic Marketing vs PAID Marketing

Spoiler alert: The BEST way to grow what you are doing or to gain more EYES to what you are offering is by doing PAID marketing.

The difference between organic marketing and paid marketing is that organic marketing focuses on attracting traffic for free while paid marketing involves paying for traffic.

Paid Marketing

Paid marketing is when you are attracting traffic to a business by paying for advertising which allows you to specifically target your offer to your ideal audience.

While organic marketing is more like word-of-mouth marketing, paid marketing is similar to sales-focused marketing.

The main goal of each marketing method is very different from one another.

Organic marketing aims to attract people and increase your business awareness whereas paid marketing aims to convert people from an audience into a customer or client.

PRO: Paid Ads Offer INSTANT visibility and can produce immediate results

0 Views, 0 Likes, 0 Streams.

One of the most common issue people face when they start something, is getting traction to what they're building.

One of the biggest advantages of using paid ads is that it offers INSTANT visibility and can produce immediate results.

Unlike organic marketing, which can take a very long time for you to generate some traction, paid advertising can start producing results as soon as the ad campaign is launched.

This is because paid advertising on all platforms such as Instagram, Tik-Tok, Google and Facebook will ALWAYS prioritise the paid advertising over organic content, which allows your content/offer to be shown to your potential customers immediately.

PRO: Paid Ads enable you to targeted advertising based on demographics, interests, age and behaviours

Another common problem people face is that they often have the right offer but they're trying to sell/show it to wrong people.

When you fail to identify your target audience and understand their needs and preferences, you risk wasting time and energy trying to sell to people who are not interested in or can't afford your products or services.

This can lead to low conversion rates, low sales, and ultimately, low revenue.

By using paid advertising, you can target your offer to your specific audience(s) based on their demographics, age, interests, and behaviour.

This allows the platform to show your offer ONLY to people who are most likely to be interested in your products or services, resulting in a higher click-through and conversion rate.

This level of targeting is not possible with organic marketing.

CON: Paid Advertising Can Get Costly

Doesn’t last forever, unless you pay forever.

Paid advertising doesn't last forever unless you continue to pay for it.

Once the ad campaign ends, the ads are no longer displayed, and you will suddenly lose the visibility and traffic that the ads were generating.

This means that you would need to continue investing in paid advertising to maintain their visibility and traffic, which can become costly over time.

This is why businesses have a marketing and advertising budget.

You will need to have a monthly/daily/weekly budget that you invest into your marketing for what you are trying to grow.

CON: Trial and error in seeing which platforms are more responsive than others

Trial and error can be an effective way to determine which platforms are more responsive than others when it comes to marketing your offer.

Testing with different platforms and measuring the results, you can identify which platform is generating the highest ROI and focus you marketing on those platforms giving you the best results.

However the reason this is a con is because it can take time to see what works and sometimes you can lose money marketing your offer on a platform which isn’t the best for what you are offering.

Organic Marketing

Organic marketing is a strategy that generates attention to your offer without using any paid advertising.

This when you simply rely of the algorithm to hopefully push out your offer/content to people.

Organic growth can be an effective way for you to build long-term loyalty and trust with your audience.

It requires a lot of effort to create high-performing content and build trust, which means it will take you more time to see the results, especially when compared to paid marketing.

PRO: It’s often seen as a ‘free’ solution - yes it takes time and effort, but there isn’t a physical financial outlay associated with pumping money into paid ads.

CON: Your growth relies heavily on algorithms which can be unpredictable and constantly changing.

CON: When you first start, it will not generate as much visibility as paid advertising in the short term.

The Most Ideal Strategy

Do both.

By combining both organic growth and paid advertising, you will benefit from the immediate results and increased visibility that paid advertising provides, while also building long-term loyalty and trust through organic growth.

This can help you achieve your short-term and long-term goals, and ensure sustainable growth over time.

By using paid advertising strategically to complement your organic growth efforts, you can increase your visibility and attract new customers, while also building a loyal customer base through your high-quality content and social media engagement.

This can lead to higher conversion rates, more followers, subscribers, increased revenue, and a stronger brand reputation in the long run.

- Till Next Time.
