I think that Toranaga sent Mariko there with John, so that she sees him with another woman and so that she would move further from him.

We all know the real father of Ochiba's son is Eren Jaeger

Same! When we see that flashback 1 year ago in Episode 2, I immediately thought the heir was actually Toranaga's son. Not just the way they look at each other, but also when they do it - right after the Taiko says that the heir's eyes remind him of the mother.
It's like Toranaga and Ochiba share a glance as if to say, "he does not see himself in the heir".

I also assume Ochiba got with a stable boy or something.

Episode 5 was my favorite until I watched this one, now this is my favorite. This show made me go from "oh I'm glad there's notable female characters too" to "actually the women are the main characters".
On the conception of Ochiba's child, I initially thought it was Toranaga's and that's why she looked at him that way in episode 2, but now it's revealed she looked at him that way because she blames him as well for her father's death.
Her saying she scratched out fate's eyes I can interpret in two ways, she either got incredibly lucky that she was the only one the taiko could impregnate, or she's implying that she cheated fate and had someone else's child. I'm leaning more towards the latter seeing as Ishido took that to mean "fuck fate, take control in your own hands".
I do absolutely love Ochiba though, she's the main antagonist currently but every scene Fuma Nikaido emanates such sinister but powerful energy, you know she only cares about her own interests but you can't say no to her. Enthralling performance.

Kuroda-sama, the Shogun who appears in the 22 years ago flashback and father of Lady Ochiba is not the Taikō. He was the previous Shogun who was the ruler of Japan before the Taikō hand he was inspired by a real historical Shogun called Oda Nobunaga. Lady Ochiba was also inspired on a real person called Yodo-no-kata but in the real history she was the niece of Oda Nobunaga, not the daughter.
