Meruem is a perfectly written overpowered character. This dilemma with Netero is what batman v superman attempted to show but failed disastrously. Can you really be okay with leaving the fate of humanity entirely up to an imhuman godlike being?

2024-04-25 05:31:38 +0000 UTCThe thing is, if Meruem was a science experiment, we could at least blame the scientist for creating an impossible situation they couldn't control. A scientist, by nature, is an observer, not a creator, and Meruem's a perfect example of why AI needs to be more regulated than it is; it'll destroy us and itself, eventually. Or worse, continue a cycle of destruction, perpetually. No, Meruem's growth is just a natural force, much like a hurricane. And like a hurricane, it'll have to either die down, or come up with some sort of solution. Without it, I agree, he and the guards will have to die, somehow. Meruem, especially, is much too powerful to just bend a knee to blindly. No one wants to do that, no one sane should do that. It's like these monsters are too powerful, good or evil, to let live. Because I'm sure it's painful for Meruem to just watch all the injustice around him. But at the same time, if we set this precedent of our free will being broken, what dangerous implications are we inviting into our lives? It comes back to how I described this before; an impossible situation...

Long falls are depicted as fatal in so many anime with incredibly superhuman characters when there is a limit to how damaging a fall can be. It's well below the forces characters in One Piece(before the midpoint of the first half) and other shows strike with.

2024-04-20 13:16:41 +0000 UTCPouf never used spiritual message on the king, he does see the change he's gone through from his actions but he is trying to deny it's existence because he thinks that's not what an absolute king should be, if the king actually goes through that change poufs whole life and purpose are gone he is nothing at that point, while feeling guilt for his actions, they need to be done, he thinks if he does not stop the king from where he is going he will make a fatal mistake and he will save him even if it meant forsaking his life for it. idk what you think a sociopath is but this is not a sociopath what so ever i don't even know how you can begin to think he is after that scene in 113 in the throne room.

2024-04-20 09:56:31 +0000 UTCI think if another person actually told pouf he is going to do what pouf is exactly doing right now pouf would completely hate that idea, there's his love for the king and on the other hand there's his devotion for his duty and he is feeling guilty for what he is doing, he Criticizes himself for that more than anyone, he already said that he would do this even if it meant his death he knows what he is doing is treason in a way.

He’s more so trying to figure out why is everyone acting so funny if there were to be their original selves they wouldn’t be in the predicaments they’re in. Pouf’s mindset is still on being full ant with human emotions he doesn’t know he have.

She also has *no* idea about Pouf's Beelzebub which makes a lot of this more or less convenient when it comes to Pitou's intent. Pouf is forcing Pitou to conspire, but Pitou being completely honest and compliant is their best defense.

2024-04-19 23:18:10 +0000 UTCI believe Gon's eyes wavered because he realized he'd been tricked and that Pitou had been subtly signaling where the King had went. Gon would obviously tell them to stop talking if he had realized it sooner. Pitou however is having their hand forced by Pouf and is fearing punishment from Gon, but sidesteps that by telling Pouf that he doesn't need to go. I don't think Pitou is trying to instill an emotion in Gon when she doesn't really know how to even describe it. It'd sorta be like me describing a machine to someone when I don't know what the machine does or it's importance. I do however think that Gon instinctively knew what happened from Pitou's description but he's choosing to ignore it. Pitou is stuck getting absolutely crushed between Gon and Pouf.

2024-04-19 21:15:55 +0000 UTCUpon rewatch the "Youpi was feeling the same fear" line hit me in a way it never had before. I used to always interpret it as Youpi & Pouf sharing the same fear for the King's safety against Netero, but now I see it differently. It probably means that Youpi shared Pouf's fear of the changes occurring within him, and wanted to leave for the king as quickly as possible to ensure he changed no further and that the King's safety remained his top priority. He is scared of his own maturation because he would be thrust into a world in which he would have to discern his own reasons for living, without the emotional crutch of his biological imperative assigned at birth to protect & provide for the King. Brilliant writing. Probably should have been obvious in hindsight, but for some reason I just hadn't previously paid close attention to that moment.
