(Reupload) 24 Life Lessons I've Learned So Far
Added 2021-09-01 11:59:12 +0000 UTCA Highly requested post people on here have been asking for.
So here are 24 major lessons I’ve learned so far in my life
1. Health is the MOST valuable asset
No matter how successful, how much money, or how much fame you have, it’s all useless without your health.
Invest in your health.
You should never wait until you have health problems to worry about your health.
Health is an invaluable treasure—always appreciate, nurture, and protect it.
Good health is often wasted on the young before they have a chance to appreciate it for what it’s worth.
We tend to take our good health for granted, because it’s just there. We don’t have to worry about it, so we don’t really pay attention to it… until we have to.
Heart disease, stroke, many cancers—the list of many largely preventable diseases is long….
so take care of your health now, or you’ll regret it later on.
2. You Don’t Always Get What You Want
No matter how carefully you plan and how hard you work, sometimes things just don’t work out the way you want them to… and that’s okay.
We have all of these expectations; predetermined visions of what our “ideal” life will look like, but all too often, that’s not the reality of the life we end up with.
Sometimes our dreams fail and sometimes we just change our minds mid-course.
Sometimes we have to fail and try a few things before we find the right direction.
3. Money matters
4. The strongest negotiation point is being able to walk away and mean it
5. You alone have the power to create the life you want.
Other people can support you.
They can guide you.
Train you.
Help you.
Others can make your success difficult.
Like crabs in a bucket, they can attempt to pull you back down to their level.
6. Complaining will never fix things.
You waste a lot of energy when you complain about how life sucks.
It would be better to channel that energy into a definitive action that addresses what you are unsatisfied or uncomfortable about in life.
7. Develop a skill people value.
No matter what you do in life it is essential to have a tangible skill that people admire.
Something you are strong at that not everyone can do.
Your skill can be as simple as plumbing or carpentry.
Or something technical like a computer language.
But find a skill that others find useful and work hard until you are an expert at that skill.
Be the person people come to and ask,
“how do I….”
8. You cannot force anyone to love you.
True genuine desire can never be negotiated.
It could be that the timing was not right or you were simply not the one that someone wants in their life.
9. It takes a lot of mental willpower to succeed financially.
10. Develop a healthy relationship with money.
Money is a tool with which you can acquire what you need or want.
It would be silly to say that having money is not better than needing money.
It is important to become financially literate, make smart money decisions and plan for your future.
11. Setbacks aren’t failures unless you give up
Life is filled with highs and lows.
Just because something is seeming to go against you today, doesn't mean that tomorrow will not bring successes you did not plan for either.
12. Your physical image is very important
Never let yourself go.
It’s important to stay in great shape, stay groomed, wear clean clothes, make self care a priority and smell nice
13. Doing what’s easy and comfortable leads to unhappiness.
There is no shortcut to success, whether in your career or personal life.
When you do hard things you actually feel happier because you accomplish something of value.
14. Do not help anyone who’s unwilling to help themselves
You will loose yourself trying to fix or save people who aren’t willing to participate in their own rescue.
15. “Networking” is bullshit.
You’ll never catch me at a “networking” event.
I don’t like going to professional events just to network. It feels fake.
In my experience, putting yourself out there and being yourself is much better than networking.
Go out and do things you enjoy and have a interest in.....leave the house.
You’ll naturally meet great people
16. Avoid bad debt at all costs
Nothing is more draining and humiliating than being in debt.
Buying things you can’t afford might give you a short-term buzz, but in the long run, it’s extremely stressful.
Spend below your means and save money
Wait until you can comfortably afford it.
Live a debt-free life.
There’s nothing better than not owing a penny to anyone
17. Your happiness is your responsibility....No-one else's
No one else is to blame for your problems, and no one else can make you happy.
It’s completely up to you to figure out how to solve your problems and what you need in life to feel satisfied and content.
18. Love yourself and be complete in yourself FIRST before you get into any relationships
Look to your partner as a partner — not someone you depend on to define you and make you whole.
be sure that you can stand on your own two feet emotionally and financially.
Don’t depend on a love partner to fulfil you or take care of you.
Learn to be self-sufficient and independent before you settle down.
You won’t find what you’re missing internally in someone else.
19. You can’t please everyone. No Matter how hard you try to
This is an impossible goal to achieve.
Not everyone will approve of you, agree with you, or even like you.
Stay true to yourself and accept that you can’t please everyone.
Trying to do so, will only make you crazy.
20. Show the people you work for that you are worth every penny they have invested in you.
Do more than is asked of you. Initiate new ideas that support your company’s mission.
Show up early and stay late at times. Be prepared and on time for meetings and events.
Don’t hesitate to reach out to those in higher positions to introduce yourself and see how you might add value to what they do.
21. Listen more than you talk
Some people talk too fucking much.
When you listen more, you prevent yourself from saying something dumb or not well-considered.
There are people I’ve met in less than 24 hours of knowing them, who end up telling me EVERYTHING about their life.
We all love the sound of our own voices, but you’ll learn more by listening than talking.
You also gain more knowledge and information.
Then when you do speak, people will really listen.
22. Success in any area of life doesn’t happen overnight
In a world of instant gratification, it’s hard to wait for success.
But most people don’t find success until they’ve put in many years of effort and hard work.
Rather than delaying your happiness until you’ve reach the pinnacle, find joy in achieving small wins and milestones along the way.
Find fulfilment in the process of success rather than just the culmination.
23. You need to have a delusional level of self belief and self confidence
Don’t expect others to see gold where you can only see dust.
If you don’t believe in yourself, if you don’t believe that you are capable, a worthy human being, chances are that nobody will.
You will act on that belief and people will treat you based on what you think about yourself, based on how you treat yourself and based on how you act and behave in the world.
It’s all about self- love, it all starts with self-love.
If you don’t have the love for yourself, how can you expect to get it from somebody else?
Love yourself and others will love you also.
Your life is a result of the choices you make, if you don’t like your life it is time to start making better choices.
24. Live like no one else today - So later - You can live like no one else
BONUS
1. It’s okay to put yourself first and say no to the things (or people) that drain your energy.
People who love and respect you won’t resent or have animosity towards because you chose to put yourself first
2. Drama = stress = early grave
Your life should be a drama free zone.
Don’t waste your time on toxic people.
If you’re a person who loves and gets excited with drama then you should seek therapy.
3. Happiness is not a destination
Happiness is simply a by-product of life you will experience along the journey.
Happiness is not a consumable product. It is not something you find by searching for it.
It is a naturally arising byproduct of a fulfilling, well-lived life.
4. The “perfect time” will NEVER come
stop over planning and over analysing. just start
5. Not everyone wants you to succeed. Especially some of your friends and family.
sometimes friends and family wont show love to you until they see strangers start celebrating you.
Don't get mad, just accept it for what it is.
Keep a mental note of who was there and who was just silently watching you.
Till Next Time
