They've mentioned before that they've seen a couple of the movies (Lola even mentioned in this reaction not recognizing Mark Hamill as Luke Skywalker). But no, you don't need to have seen or have any knowledge of Star Wars to watch Andor. Just on its own, it's a great sci-fi political spy thriller. If you haven't seen it I highly recommend it.

2023-11-24 05:39:48 +0000 UTCIt's not as much of a gotcha as you seem to think. Queer characters can be shitty or they can be upstanding like Auguste; we do, in fact, contain multitudes. Bury your Gays refers to when a queer character (and usually the only queer character or half of the only queer couple) is killed for shock value or to further another character's storyline. Not when the death occurs as part of their own arc or story. The line is different for different viewers. The queer members of the Usher family, and some of their partners are full characters in their own right, not just here to be tragic, or teach us a lesson, or make another character sad. I know you're not a fan of Flannigan, so my opinions probably don't mean much, but you don't have to watch if you're not going to have a good time. Lots of shows out there, and this one will over pretty quickly.

2023-11-23 08:09:05 +0000 UTCto answer your question, yes!, 'the masque of the red death' is a short story of EAP, in fact each episode is called and losely based on different short stories, except for the last, which is named after one of his poems. one of the most famous short stories is the murders in the rue morgue, which i'm surprised you're not familiar with. at least in spain it's one of the most popular short stories to get introduced to the genre. i must have read it a bunch of times for at least three different subjects in school. PS: that death note mug is killing me. that and milena drkinking from a tlotr's mug.

Also, I think they mentioned Perry's age to be 26 or 27 iirc "Idk if I'm supposed to recognize the guy doing the exercises" that's Bill, you saw him in the scene right before that lmao, he is Tammy's (Penny) husband

"character list so you can be less confused roderick - head of the family madeline - head of the family and roderick sister then we have the children ordered from older to younger frederick (freddie/froderick) - played by henry thomas, whchi was the father in both hill house and midnoight mass and the uncle in bly manor... also the kid in e.t. which is not related but still funny tamerlane (tammy) played by samantha sloyan (perfect penny killed my husband) which is obviously bev in midnight mass... what an enchanting woman and also had a small part in hill house. she's in more projects of mike but you haven't watched those. victorine, played by the wonderful t'nia miller, hannah grose in bly manor. napoleon usher (leo) played by rahul kohli, sheriff in midnight mass and owen in bly manor. camille, played kate siegel... no need to say more, she's been in every project of mike you've seen prospero (perry), the youngest, played by sauriyan sapkota. he was in the midnight club by mike, but you haven't watched that one. then we have arthur pym, the attorney of the usher family, played by the famous mark hamill. we have juno, the new and young wife of roderick played by the amazing ruth codd who also was amazing in the midnight club. the bartender, verna, played by carla gugino (plase, marry me ma'am) who was olivia crane in hill house and the narrator (not going to spoil the name in case someone wants to watch it and suffer) in bly manor. zach gilford (riley flynn in midnight mass) and willa fitzgerald (her first mike flanagan project... also, please marry me ma'am too) are young roderick and madeline. morella usher (freddie's wife was also in midnight mass but i don't remember the name. and finally lenor, the only granchild, played by kyliegh curran. she had a part in doctor sleep. amazing horror movie of mike that is a sequel to the shining totally recomended. auguste dupin, the lawyer who's talking to roderick, played by carl lumbly. first mike project i believe. minor roles are roderick annd madelines mom and dad actually played by both dudleys from hill house but more recently seen as sarah and joe collie in midnight mass. tammy's husban bill was also in midnight mass but i don't remember his name there. he was the dude who repaired the boats and followed bev like a lap dog"
