CA is fairly action focused as well, maybe even more than Yorknew. For me, Yorknew featured characters I cared more about. It’s just a matter of character attachment and development for me. Setting as well is an important factor.

Like I said, no reason for that "ass" scene to exist, or for his desires to be depicted in that way. Those were specific choices made by the author/animators. It's true that he's attracted to power. But it's a sexual attraction. Whether they're kids or adults, it doesn't matter to him. Even the guy called him a pervert. And Gon and Killua were clearly looking at his dick with those disgusted faces. Implying that he had a boner... That's my take.

Its not like "if you like Yorknew you gonna love CHimera ant". its quite the opposite really. They capture almost different audiences. And the only thing ppl complain about CHimera Ant is about being long and not action packed every 5 seconds. They complain about just the things that make it so great. So its a matter of fundamental understanding of the media. Chimera Ants have absolutely EVERYTHING a good story should have. But some people only like some very specific select things in their shonen. Its like: Chimer Ant is a wonderful Strawberry cake (if you like strawberry's or not is not important in this analogy right now) but most shonen fans only like simple-and-plain-everyday chocolate cake, and anything that is a little different than that is "MID". But i know you girls are not like that. Chimera Ant Its gonna become your favorite arc by far, i guarantee it

His attraction is 100% escalating with their strength regardless of age or gender. Its like getting excited when you meet someone that likes the same things you like. His desires transcend all barriers and he can only appreciate those desires if there is the possibility of total death for himself. It's pure, unadulterated hedonism in a show about following your desires (or dreams) and how you choose to follow them. It's one of those rare cases where I find the Phantom Troupe to be more principled than Hisoka. He's designed to make you uncomfortable and you cannot resist nor change him if he deems you worthy of his attention. You can only skirt around him and pray that fate doesn't bring you near him. There's very few exceptional people that can challenge his world.

Ever since I firsted watched hxh for the first time back in 2011 (when it was actually airing, I caught up to the show during the chimera ant arc & have watched the show beyond over 10 times on my own own & from other reactors) Hisoka was always one of my favorites. From the get go. How he's such a gray area character/how he isn't particularly "good" or "evil" just honestly has his own agenda and lives life the way he wants to, really intrigues me. He has his weird turned on moments, sure, but I think he truly does want to see Gon & Killua both (mainly Gon tho) grow and become stronger (for their own benefit AND his so he can eventually fight them). I also love his character design, his VA, and his theme music *spanish guitar* lol its just all so great & different. A VERY memorable character for sure.

There is absolutely no scene in the show or in the manga that we see him doing sexual acts on anyone. Though you could interpret that attraction to sexual thoughts, the fact still remains that we haven't seen him act on those supposed sexual thoughts, and all Hisoka's interactions are just for him to fight strong opponents.

I also think the show spells out that for Hisoka his ultimate desire is to fight the object of his arousal. I don't think they've showed that Hisoka wants to fuck the kids (or anyone else) but they also haven't explicitly said he doesn't want to. I would argue that based on what we've seen for Hisoka his arousal/sexuality is expressed through the act of combat, not sex. You can argue that he is a "pedophile" but I feel that isn't the most accurate diagnosis- I would argue the fact that Gon and Killua are kids is completely irrelevant to Hisoka's interest. He is more of a "combatphile". It's like if someone has a fetish where they are attracted to literally anybody wearing overalls, regardless of the person wearing it. That fetish has become so strong and unhealthy that it no longer has anything to do with other human beings, the attraction revolves only around wearing overalls. If they saw a kid wearing overalls, they would be aroused, but it really has nothing to do with the kid and everything to do with their extreme fetish. Anyways, that is enough psychoanalyzing of a cartoon character's deviant sexuality for me right now. It is a fascinating (albeit disturbing) concept.

He is attracted to strong people, be it young (Gon, Killua), middle aged (Chrollo), old people (Netero), and there is no scene in the Anime or Manga that shows he wants to fuck them sexually. If you disagree, give me an example where Hisoka does sexual acts or even thinks of sexual acts. It's purely just your interpretation.

It seems like they feel dissonance about being entertained by a character that is explicitly coded as a pedophile, to the point of the show joking about it ("walk ahead of us" was an attempt at humor). Hisoka wants to fuck kids, and he happens to be a compelling character. Two things can be true! If anyone needs it, I will personally absolve you of any guilt for finding Hisoka to be an interesting character. Go in peace, child.
