I forgot how much I hated the bombers but now I remember 😭 I prefer the Phantom Troupe too lmao, they’re so much more interesting! this episode was fun to watch, keep up the great work, we appreciate you 🫶🏻 may God bless both of you 🤍

Manga and anime are different mediums. The manga already had an audience which will translate over to the anime regardless. So to draw in new people they might choose to adapt the source material in such a way that's more appealing to a general audience.

Orr Malus

That doesn't follow, considering how popular the unedited source is. Cut down Kite, cut down Hunter Exam, cut down GI. Might as well add Subway Surfers to the screen since the studio is so convinced the series is boring LOL

Isaac

can't wait for THAT moment in THAT arc

RepliCant

The reason they cut out all the explanations is because they didn't want their audience to fall asleep. There's a reason why people find this arc boring: not everyone is into trading card games and those who are are too young to be watching HxH in the first place.

Orr Malus

I agree. Removing a page should return the ability. Here is the general mechanic though https://qph.cf2.quoracdn.net/main-qimg-369c3c96244fd37087f09765e1f47f36-lq

Isaac

This is something that both adaptations fell short in. They both focused on different aspects of the arc, but only the manga showed the complete picture

"Gon acts out the most & uses excessive force when his friends are in danger" That's not true, I don't want to spoil because it hasn't happened yet. His idea of justice does have a lot to do with his anger though.

Shivering King Banana

That’s true. But Gon acts out the most & uses excessive force when his friends are in danger. Overall Gon is about justice whether he’s mad about you trying to hurt him or innocent people.

ForiegnKarma

He gets angry when no one is in danger. Like when he was angry with Nobunaga for not having empathy for people who aren't his friends.

Reading the item descriptions is the interesting part of this arc, but many people don't read them. One of the reasons this arc is not well-loved is that in the anime, the dialogue and explanations are cut. In other words, the manga shows far more dialogues, card descriptions and detailed rules of the game. So it shows more of the fun of GREED ISLAND, and to be honest, the anime GI arc is less interesting than the manga one. I don't know exactly why they cut these details, but it is probably because of the difference between the manga and the anime: a one-page description in the manga could take 10 minutes in the anime, and they would probably run out of time if they explain everything in the manga as it is. the chimera arc has this problem. Anime should be more flexible to bring out the full interest of the work without being limited by the 30-minute time frame.

Gon is my favorite character btw 🥹 the way he just wants peace with everyone really shows his true colors.

ForeignKarma

The only time we seen Gon get mad is when he see’s one of his love ones in danger. I don’t feel as if it’s him letting the power get to him but more so of just putting a limit on Gon period.

ForiegnKarma

After the first episode of the arc you can pretty much piece together the general direction of the first 10ish episodes if you watch the intro. I’d rather see blind reactions to the character designs and unfolding story rather then ..oh they’re from the intro so we’re going to see this other thing next..

Ayy LFG

Just curious, what are peoples opinion on whether they watch the OP to the chimera arc or not? I believe Blind Wave chose not too, because of spoilers...

Jon Roe

pretty close to the end of the arc, this is definitely the beginning of the end.

Card games in general are hugely popular in Japan. There's one for just about any anime aimed at children. And yeah the next few episodes are great.

Shivering King Banana

I do wonder Togashi took inspiration from Dragon Quest or Yugioh when he wrote this arc? In any case, I can’t wait for the next couple of episodes.

Jack SV

I don't speak Japanese and translations get little things wrong a lot. Maybe it's only stolen so long as it's in the book and if he removes you from his book you can have your power back. That way it would make sense with him taking the troupes powers.

Shivering King Banana

another fun time with you and hxh <3

Wallas

If you steal something, it's kind of implied they don't have it any more.

Tom

Asta's initial behavior makes so much sense though. They are cooperating in a contest with a 50 Billion Jenny prize against people who are willing to kill for it. Kids wouldn't seem like good partners to most people in that context. Also, everyone's response to Asta giving the information was because she went above and beyond in the value she gave to Team Gon. Sort of like an apology to them. I saw Bisky's reaction as her enjoying Gon and Killua learning how to cooperate with people, but that's just my opinion

Isaac

You should reread that section. He is 100% taking

Isaac

I don't see why it confirmed it. It could be that the girl will get her powers back once Chrollo removes Kurapikas nen. They never showed her not being able to use her power before Chrollo's nen got locked away. It could be that the connection between Chrollo and the people's powers he steals is that strong. Also in the manga he uses his friends Nen abilities, I don't think Chrollo would take away one of the troupes Nen.

Shivering King Banana

Don’t worry, last episode was basically the first time it’s actually confirmed Chrollo’s ability seals the others power to use it.
