2023-06-28 02:40:29 +0000 UTCA well written villain can be as much fun as a well written protagonist. Phantom Troupe are well written. However, with Gon’s dad we don’t really have much to go on. We saw him being cool riding on a dinosaur, but aside from that, we only know he regularly abandoned his responsibilities (running off leaving his cousin behind, and running off leaving Gon behind). If we get screen time with him, things might (or might not) change.

2023-06-24 10:58:05 +0000 UTCa lot of manga writers inspired from togashi who made hunterxhunter, he introduced a lot of more serious thematics in the shonen industry, even Naruto had the inspiration for SHARINGAN and UCHIWA CLAN from kurapika and the kuruta clan. and togashi characters thinking live and explaining their reflections style (which is why hxh is my favorite anime) has been inspired from jojo's bizarre adventure

There are a lot of visual methods to achieve a desired reaction toward a character but it's not an exhaustive list. So manga artists are definitely influenced by one another in this regard but they have to be careful in admitting it publicly as they then run the risk of spoiling their own story. So yeah, AoT was definitely influenced by Hunter x Hunter but not exclusively. Hange from AoT was inspired for instance by Edward Elric from FMA: obsessive scientist archetype. They also share a similar haircut and the same voice actress. People who recognized this instantly knew that the character will play a major role thus making the plot a little more predictable.

About the arcs, there's not an arc that is better than others...people have their own preferences and there's more than this arc or Chimera arc

Since Feitan is the evolution of Hiei makes sense to believe that he was inspired by him too, in that interview he talked just about Levi so we don't know about the other characters but it is likely...

The only thing I've ever found is that he based Levi on the comic book character Rorschach from Watchmen.
