Nen History 101, Nen Theory and Application, Nen Physics, Nen Physical Education, Nen Politics, and of course, Nen Biology. With after school clubs that include “Hide and Seek: Father Edition”, “Tag! You’re Dead!”, “Phantom Geoguesser”, and of course “Medical School”.

At this point, a little nudge to soothe their racing minds isn’t the end of the world. If you think I should delete it, I will, but I didn’t try to ruin it for everyone. I figure in fifty episodes, no one will remember this comment, let alone still care about it.

Nathan Elkin

Do you think it's better that they hear that from you or the show?

Shivering King Banana

Very sharp girls, but study up this was essentially chapter 1 of nen it will be compounded from here

Justin Spencer

Nen wouldn't completely change your personality. Your personality determines how your nen manifests.

Nathan Elkin

you guys already understand nen better than most reactors i have seen. they continue to explain it for basically the rest of the show so theres plenty of time for things to be explained more clearly.

rubberkidney

Hisoka is kind. Teach Gon and Killua "nen" so they don't get hurt. Believing they were coming (and lest they get hurt), Hisoka waited until midnight

椿 雪

Nen is the best power system for me, if you think well, the basis is not that complex, but the consequences and the developments are so creative and fun, you girls will love it.

Max__

I mean they sound like they have a pretty great grasp of it from the get go. I think it will make sense to them quickly.

Harfie

Idk I found myself surprised a lot in the first 30 episodes

Luke Powers

However, almost all of these long-running shonen series have this slow start. But in my opinion, Hunter x Hunter is the slowest here. Shows like Naruto (Oceaniz Cut / Kai) get to the real plot branches faster. With Hunter x Hunter, the first 30 episodes feel like school and class, partly because of this exam design that seems rather controlled with no big surprises.

Great reaction guys!

What I think Wing meant about learning Nen too young being bad for the soul was that immature people aren't responsible with power. That's why he yelled at Zushi during the fight with Killua when he was using Ren. He doesn't want them to get into the habit of using force as a solution. Illumi never learned that lesson. He solves all his problems with force and you've seen how that plays out.

Shivering King Banana

Was gonna say the exact same thing

stfucedric

Guys...just imagine for a moment, after adopting Gon and Killua and they finish this amazing anime, then they watch Haikyuu...they are gonna need a bigger house lol

Lightstrick

Lola got it from the sentence "...and you lose the ability to correct an incorrect idea" and misinterpreted it.

ODIS

For me real HxH start with spiders.

Petr Boháč

No you’re totally right, am excited for them

space1999

They love the characters, that alone will have them loving this arc….. And besides, it’s a good arc!

HxH is the only show I've ever watched tht takes so long before introducing the power system. Appreciate it so much on rewatch for how it puts the characters first, making the lengthy exposition a lot more interesting than if he'd put it right at the start.

I think the simplest way to understand Nen is that Nen is the overall category. It's basically the ability to use your life energy, aura, soul, whatever you want to call it, in different ways. You can use it for offense, defense, to conceal your presence, etc. If you don't know how to utilize Nen, (so if you don't know how to utilize your life energy) someone that does can EASILY defeat you. Hisoka was simply using his Nen to emit a force that neither Killua nor Gon had any defense for since they don't know Nen. You'll probably have to re-watch the episode because I'm not sure where you got the idea that learning Nen too early can cause you to become evil or something. If you think about it.. Wing is teaching Zushi who is clearly younger than Gon and Killua, lol. Wing put it simple. "Nen can be used for better or for worse."

Ray

Ohhhh mannn that ending discussion. I’m laughing so hard. I’m doing the plankton evil hand rub, haha.

Harfie

Stands are definitely a close second for me, I just think overall Nen has more intricacies and is more thoroughly explained.

Dominic Logan

Yeah you might wanna take notes if you really want to understand Nen. It’s a really complex system and is not as easy as the equivalent exchange from full metal alchemist.

Jack SV

hmm nen comes second for me alongwith stands in jojo, but my top magic system is from toaru majutsu no index, i found it to be more complex than nen.

Vivasvan Gautam

I think from this point on people start realizing how effin intelligent Killua is

Ruma Risto

Nen takes a while to explain and understand, but you guys already have a decent grasp on some of basics that introduced this episode. The more you learn about it, the more fun/scary it is.

SunnyhuunS

Nice episode! I love the nen power system

Devin Crabtree

Oh, im so glad we are getting 2 HxH episode per month instead of only 1.

Izaya

Nen is easily the best and most complex power system in anime that I've seen.
