HH14 Full Reaction

this was supposed to go up yesterday but im gonna post it today and the edited one later in the day. we might be having issues with hh which is why im naming it this way, im trying not to use the full name, because some reaction channels have been hit with copyright takedowns on patreon, and some have been deleted immediately, and we got some notification to contact patreon regarding some issue. so hopefully we figure out whats the problem and we’ll handle it then

HH14 Full Reaction

Comments

Well they can just get blocked, the content creator should never feel pressured or forced to do something. They’re doing this to entertain an audience, not to be forced to do things that can possibly get them into trouble. People that do that, aren’t true fans

Unfortunately, there are a lot of selfish people out there. I've seen some nasty comments on other Patreon and YouTube channels. Certain viewers are open about wanting the reactors to risk copyright strikes instead of being slightly inconvenienced by a few extra steps.

That's too bad. I was hoping you'd only skip the episode because you didn't want to watch a recap, as opposed to skipping it because you were told to skip it. As this was a recap episode, I don't feel TOO strongly about it this time, but I dislike when viewers interfere with the blindness of a completely "blind" reaction by spoiling or hinting at things to come. Seemingly minor comments like "next week's episode is amazing" or "not sure I can watch episode ## again when I remember what happened" or "animation quality drops next time" muddies the water by giving the reactor expectations.

Don't watch the show but wanted to comment on this. I'll be honest, I've always been wary of your channel because of how much you include from the episodes. It's extremely undefined what's considered fair use under the transformative display of the work. I think because you have so much intro you have been undetected by bots, but I don't know if the hefty discussion both before and after the episode would hold under human scrutiny. I fear they might see what you have as a market substitute -- despite the low opacity people can essentially watch the full episode through your reactions (audio constantly playing too since it's through speakers rather than headphones). Combine this all with the fact that, as others have said, Japan doesn't have fair use unlike the US (which YT's copyright is derived from) and it could lead to some serious legal action in the future, not necessarily for you directly, but I wouldn't be surprised if the whole anime reaction area of things changes drastically in the future. That being said, it's worked surprisingly well for your channel so far despite how huge you are views-wise. It hasn't gone there yet, and usually a counter claim is enough, but with the recent crackdowns on anime reactions, who knows. I wonder if this will become a big thing in the future, like with how torrenting slipped under the radar for a while but then became extremely cracked down on in certain countries. You guys film a LOT of shows and have a life outside this, so you're probably really busy but I highly recommend this video from today from an anime reactor on the whole situation: https://youtu.be/OlyMuE2_9IU It's a bit long, so if you do decide to watch it then obviously feel free to take breaks and not do it all at once, but it's very illustrative of the whole anime reaction / fair use / copyright / transformative media topic and explains stuff you need to be careful of. I also recommend to other patrons who are curious on the topic (and let me know if there's anything in the video that you think is wrong / you disagree with, am always up for a discussion)

Yeah a TON of reaction channels have been hit pretty hard which sucks :/ Studio Gek got hit right as they were about to upload my fav aot episode...

Fish Smell Bad

You should go back to having long intros. Maybe put the previous episodes discussion as the intro. The youtube robots check the first minutes a lot more than the middle and end. I think that's the reason why the first 7 episodes are still up on youtube while these are having trouble before they are even public.

How dare they! https://i.imgur.com/9LABvPf.jpg

If you're afraid of having trouble with patreon, it could be safer to post only links to episodes instead of embedding them into your post. I've also seen someone that was using a google doc with all the links in it and they would update/post the google doc whenever there's a new upload. It's all extra steps for the users, so it's not the best for us, but it could be safer for your patreon.

MaxVSTheGames

They be player hating!

Norrin Radd

Are we getting Vinland today as well or is it coming out now tomorrow? Just curious.

Jack SV

we didnt react to it because its just a recap so everyone said to skip it

i cant seem to find episode 13? :/

JonasK19

Upload the videos to Google Docs or Vimeo and provide the link here. Change the name of the show completely to something like GxK or Our Boys or FindxFind. Some thing we’ll all know that’s in no way similar to the original name. Just some ideas

If this is true copyright stuff is really getting egregious. As a long time viewer of reactions I can understand media companies striking footage of the show, but just the name? Seriously??

Flubbedsquid

Oh yeah, their own tags are worth 3 points. So everyone at the start of the game already has 3 points. So I guess the possible combination are: Your tag + your target's. Your tag + 3 other people. Your target's + 3 other people. And the last one is 6 other people. The last two are if you lose your own tag.

I've seen other reactors say that even posts that include the name of the show and not any actual content was flagged. The work around I've seen is to just not use the actual name of the show and abbreviate it. From what I've seen it appears they just blindly copyright claimed anything containing the name of the shows under their catalog which is dumb.

Blood Shot

Yeah a lot of anime reaction channels on Patreon were hit last week with copyright strike. HH, JoJo's bizzare adventures, demon slayer, Naruto were given copyright strike as far as i am aware. Japan doesn't have fairuse doctrine in their copyright law so probably that is why this issue arose in first place.

Vivasvan Gautam

Good morning from New York. Yeah, it seems a lot of Patreons got hit by the copyright wave.I can’t say I’m too surprised though it was bound to happen eventually.
