He’s been shown to be a psychopath since he was a small child, if he had the power and the will to do it, I think he could have justified it too himself. The only reason he wouldn’t have been able to, is that he needed the worlds hatred to get Zeke to be part of his plan 🤷🏼 but that’s just my opinion.

I always assumed mostly all of it, because you guys will leave in when you go on tangents about food or getting your nails done or travelling and repeating yourselves xD Plus it has a light editing feel. BUT with many eps from Mr Robot I realized yall actually cut a lot of valid discussion points, so I really hope you know that a lot of people including me really love the discussion, I personally love it more than the reaction! Excited for this to come out

2023-03-16 00:11:10 +0000 UTCIn case you didn't learn anything about AoT, you need to break up the edited reaction into 3 parts, then release it over the course of 3 years, then break up the 3rd part into two parts and release them one year apart. Otherwise what's the point...

But you do see her create an inverted-wall of titans and you see a titan almost smash into them before they escape, at least to me clearly communicating that if she had killed one less titan then they wouldn't have made it in time. Like it's very explicit, but I will give you the benefit of the doubt since a lot of people also said "she only killed a few!". The manga does communicate time passing (mentions it would take less than an hour, but common sense should dictate it would take like 10-15 minutes at least) but it's not in a clear visual way, so I get the issue. To me this is mostly a case where the medium of anime makes it easier to feel, but apart from adding the titans tripping on each other it's not like the anime did much to change it, they just adapted it into an anime so it's more of a side effect. Also I guess I thought you meant her actual goodbye, not the titan scene. But I digress. With the Freedom scene, I've watched a few anime reactions and in most of them the people when that crossfade happens have commented "Oh, this is what he sees" once it shows the clouds. So I feel like the anime made it clearer in the manga, but you're entitled to your opinion as always

It lacked that stumbling and running over other colossal Titans and slipping, which in this special rather gave you the feeling that Hange's deeds have brought something. In the manga, you were like, "Yeah cool, you stopped those 4 at the front. By doing that, you enabled the others to have an extra 30 seconds until the second row arrives then." About the Freedom scene: It's amusing that people see this so differently. But I'm glad that you're happier with the anime adaptation here than I am. I'm still looking forward to my favorite scene, which unfortunately didn't make it into this special. I'm really looking forward to it in the fall.

And anyone who knows what happens next can completely understand why they will need more animation time for the next 60-100 minutes. I like to think back to when manga chapters 130-139 were released and it was learned that Mappa was going to animate it (Memes at the time: https://imgur.com/a/KzQouC8). I will be very surprised to see how they will make the finale. And hopefully you've checked out the lyrics to the new Ending Song and with any luck the Opening "My War". I just love the foreshadowing in Attack on Titan, partly very suptil hidden in the dialogues and songs. Also the song "Bauklötze" at Hange's death was just perfect in that respect. "Fiery Sunset", "With the embers of hatred we swing our swords", "Is this our fate or our will?", "We will fight until this hot wind takes our wings". The only thing I find a pity is that the production committee could not wait until the other half is finished. So we had 1 hour of fun, but it is still something different than hoping for two or six weeks for more scenes and the fan community spinning theories between each episode. Especially back then, when the final manga chapters were released monthly, and every time the whole fan community jumped on it and threw endless theories into the room, that was just a great time, even when chapters 137 to 139 failed to convince large parts of the fan community. But because the ending was so bad for so many people, I had a great time expperiencing the dumpster fire and the nuclear fallout that is caused. Otherwise, I'm curious about your discussion for now. An hour of Attack on Titan in a row is pretty tough, especially when it comes to the final chapters. Hopefully you were able to recover. If you watched Vinland Saga on the same day, my condolences. Then you had a bit of tragedy-drama overload today.

2023-03-15 22:03:06 +0000 UTCngl i read the manga a long time ago and these scenes did not hit as hard in the manga. i mean the art was fantastic and it was still terrifying (the rumbling) but the music and voice acting made it all the much better. even Hanges death was absolutely crazy

Even though it was clearly there for a reason, the director of the anime (under Wit, so S1-3) chose to change it because they didn't know if they would adapt the whole story or not. Isayama in general had less creative control over the story in the first season than in future ones

It sort of bothers me when people say "the anime improved on this" but it's clearly just people connecting more with the medium and struggling to do the same with manga. If there was an actual creative change I'd love to hear it Funny, I got the opposite feeling. The episode literally shows the corpses and cross-fades to the clouds/steam, which very clearly communicates that it's all Eren can see

But what bothered me a lot was the Freedom scene. In the colored manga, you had seen the steam from the colossal Titans forming clouds and Eren, after running behind the Titans, not seeing the destruction and suffering (Manga: https://imgur.com/a/L3bkBjy). Here, it seemed more like the sea of corpses was his dream of freedom.

2023-03-15 20:29:29 +0000 UTCi've been waiting ages for that panel to be animated. specially since they skiped one one of my favourite panels and didn't animated it in 4x03. that panel was my lockscreen for months. can't find it right now but it was armor reiner carrying tiny annie and then they also ignored completely female titan carrying baby reiner and bert. they did the warriors dirty 💀 honestly reiner and annie's friendship is one of my favourite things from aot.
