I think it's implied that Light-Kira was checking the criminals more carefully, most of the time, before killing them. Exceptions are when he was still experimenting at the beginning, or when he's cornered. I agree though that it should have been shown early on, rather than stated.

Huh... Maybe there is a rule I'm forgetting, but shouldn't Misa have been able to kill Ginzo even without having ownership of the Death Note? Raye Penber wrote on the piece that Light gave to him and that worked. I don't know why Rem had to do it. Maybe I was just falsely assuming that she was writing on the scrap piece of the Death Note that Rem touched her with, thinking she kept it.

Misa is 19 which actually makes her older then Light by around a year.

you might think that the power got to him too fast like in 3 eps but think that during the first 3 eps lot of time passed which we didn't see... he was trying the note in diff ways possible and figured stuff out by using it for weeks.. so
