Mean Socials Fix

This mod will stop Sims from constantly choosing to do autonomous mean socials in every single conversation.
What was wrong and how does this fix it?
Mean interactions test a number of things to see if it's appropriate for a Sim to perform it. Stuff like their current mood, their traits, and how the conversation is going. One of the things it tests is whether or not the Sim has the "Technophobe" lifestyle from the Snowy Escape expansion pack; if they do, then the game allows them to autonomous target Servos with mean interactions and vice versa, regardless of any other factors.
In a recent patch, Maxis added the Loyal trait, and with it they another new condition that checks to make sure that Sims will not autonomously do mean socials that target their friends. To accomplish this, they added a new test to the side of every existing test. In all others cases, this was fine, but in the case of the Technophobe test, there is a slight problem. If you do not have Snowy Escape, the Technophobe test is empty, so instead of adding a side condition, the Loyal test is now the only condition needed to pass. Thus, Sims who do not have the Loyal trait are always allowed to perform mean socials autonomously, and even Sims who do have it will do it to everyone they aren't already friends with.
I bundled a test set with the same ID as the Technophobe test in this package. It will take the place of the original one, and serve its intended purpose in games without the Snowy Escape pack. If you don't have Snowy Escape, the test will always fail and Sims will need to pass one of the other tests in order to be mean without your permission. If you do have Snowy Escape, then you should not install this mod, because you won't experience this bug.

This bug was patched out already and the code has changed in such a way that my previous fix would now do nothing. If you have Snowy Escape installed, it would do nothing anyway.

2023-02-17 16:08:20 +0000 UTCSo Iโm currently experiencing this bug. At first I perceived it as an issue caused by my mods but after some research, I learned it was a game issue. My sims automatically perform mean, mischievous & funny interactions with each other & if I disable the autonomy of any of them then they will autonomously do whatever is available between the three. They never perform friendly interactions with each other. As you can imagine this is ruining the relationship between my sims. Between festering grudges & hurt sentiments, the relationship between my household sims result in a red bar. Iโve disabled mean & mischievous interactions but now my sims only do funny interactions which still ruins their relationship. I was hoping to receive some help with this.

2022-12-02 01:02:20 +0000 UTCI should have specified what I meant was my other "custom" cc traits/mods might be effecting the intensity of the emotions/actions as some involve social interactions/buffs that might play a role in amping up the meanness I'm sure. But yes, if it continues I'll report in your Discord, thanks for taking the time to explain and support and clever you discovered that the Snowy Escape Technophobe trait might have been a root cause for what others are experiencing!

2022-11-02 22:52:25 +0000 UTCTraits absolutely play a part. Evil, Mean, and Eccentric Sims are all allowed to be mean. There are other niche exceptions, too, that will allow Sims to be mean. If you're getting mean autonomy issues even with Snowy Escape installed, I'd need to gather more info from your game file to look into it. Please come to the Discord server and tag me there, we can coordinate from there. It's possible there are multiple causes. Do you have any missing packs which aren't Snowy Escape? I had personally never experienced the bug prior to seriously investigating it, and only figured out the Snowy Escape connection on a hunch. It was a night and day difference for me once I disabled the pack and suddenly everyone was constantly mean.

2022-11-02 22:31:30 +0000 UTCInteresting you say that this bug only happens if you don't have Snowy Escape. I have Snowy Escape and all my sims have been doing is trashing each other haha. I'll remove this from my mods and see if that helps resolve for me. Mine might be happening due to my other traits effecting their likelihood of mean interactions but unsure. Glad to know I shouldn't have this in my game though. I think its brilliant you created this and hope it helps others!
