You Can't Order My Submission from Temu

South Africa finally got Temu. This means there are 60 million new people in the world who can pay bargain basement prices for products that are even worse than bargain basement crap. Africans need terrible products, too, you know, so the entire country is Temu-obsessed right now. I expect the craze to last approximately two weeks since this is how long it will take for us to receive our first deliveries.

Submission is a lot like Temu. You can certainly acquire a ready-made, one-size-fits-all sub, but when they arrive in the mail you realise they aren’t quite what you thought they were. Ready-made submission comes cheap. It does what it’s told the second you rip off the wrapping, but on closer inspection, something doesn’t seem quite right. The housing feels ready to break already, and it can’t do half of the things the manufacturer promised.

Submission is stronger when it’s handmade one hour at a time. When you hand-stitch it according to your unique measurements, it fits like a bespoke suit. It might not be perfect from the start. It won’t follow directions or stop doing the YCMA when bloody well told to, but it will be created with love. In the end, love always does it better.

That’s why I prefer D/s that’s built from connection rather than obedience. My obedience is a Temu product. You get it instantly, but it breaks before you even get it out of the box. When I obey an order, I feel exactly nothing. It’s not meaningful. It has no value. It doesn’t help me thrive. I need to be seen. My submission is best when it’s inspired, and that only happens when it’s built with compassion and connection.

If you don’t see me, why would I want to give you anything?

I’m not a manufactured product. I’m a human. I’m scruffy and matted. I make a lot of mistakes, and I don’t always do what I’m supposed to. You could call me an inferior sub, but better doms build their dynamics themselves. They don’t order them off the internet.

Temu doms look for Temu subs. I’m in the market for a velveteen rabbit that’s been loved so much it’s become loose in the joints and very shabby.

“But these things don’t matter at all, because once you are Real you can’t be ugly, except to people who don’t understand.” – The Velveteen Rabbit
