garment used: short halter dress (g8f)
took a while to figure out how it all works, but now in unreal, i think i have the whole scene on raytracing now. so, ray traced shadows, ray traced lighting and ray traced reflections. not really sure though, cause there is no real good way to check if you actually using ray tracing or not. tried opening this on the old pc, and got all kinds of errors, so i think it works like i hope it does
raytracing still does have a couple of things they really need to fix/update/invent. the biggest thing is they really need to figure out how to make transparent and translucent materials show up on reflective surfaces.
translucency gives this shimmering effect, you can see it on the lower back of the dress really well. as for transparent object, if you try to show these on reflections it just wont show up. so that means things like hair, water, fog and so on wont show up on reflected surfaces.
