I remember when Kill la Kill first aired, we immediately decided to make a fanbook.
But it didn’t sell very well, which left me discouraged for a while.
Yet, over a decade later, the two female leads (or three, if you count Mako) have transcended the boundaries of the anime itself, becoming classic characters that regularly appear in fan art on Twitter. It really goes to show the timeless magic in Hiroyuki Imaishi’s works.
…Or maybe, deep down, everyone just loves magical girl transformation scenes.
