[DEVBLOG#05] New medieval faction armor

We have been working tirelessly to create a new, vanilla friendly medieval faction since it's the only era not really expanded on by rimworld. You got tribals, you got outlanders and space pirates, but where's the love for the kings and knights?

This expansion will be quite vast as it will not only add a new faction, but new armors, weapons, events and mechanics that will overall create a very nice new medieval experience.

With still a long way to go, I can so far present you what we have done so far.

Knights wearing HEAVY PLATE ARMOR, which is a new apparel available in the mod. They also have HEAVY PLATE HELMETS and TABARDS which are color coded depending on FACTION COLOR!

This mod will have a base support for all my previously released mods, but at the same time will work independently without them. What does it mean? If you have Vanilla Armours Expanded you can expect to see chainmails and light plate armors spawning on these pawns!


This is the vanilla friendly castle icon. Castles will introduce brand new custom map generation - so the faction bases will be actual big castles, with towers and all!

We are working hard to allow for custom backstories, however because of the way they are hardcoded into the game we might have to "reinvent the wheel" so to speak. I need to admit, this faction mod will be one of our most ambitious project up to date.

I've been waiting for a faction mod like this. The lack of a vanilla medieval content and factions have always been strange considering all the medieval world backstories available to characters. Did you see the need to add more of these or were there a sufficient amount? Will pawns in the faction be restricted to these backstories?
