Theater Postcard and news
Added 2024-05-13 21:52:00 +0000 UTCThe play was The Wardrobe, if you're curious. It's the first play we've done in awhile that was aimed at tweens and up instead of ages 3+. I'm so happy with how the lighting came out in this one! It's fun to use color to differentiate the actors from the audience.
Unfortunately, I am really making a habit of inking one version and then redoing it.
I thought it would be more dramatic to have the actors large in the foreground. But I felt like the onstage action wasn't clear enough and the poses of the popcorn-couple were too similar and stiff.
Now for the news:
Barry and I got a table at BwPCon, an arts event at our friendly local comic shop, Books With Pictures!
Here are some reasons that BwPCon is joyous:
only one day long (June 15)
outdoors
close enough to bike to
with a food truck pod
There are also tons of local artists with comics, prints, stickers, and crafts, and it's free to attend. But omigosh OUTDOORS WITH ONSITE FOOD TRUCKS!
This is all to say that I'm currently doing my darnedest to get SuperButch Issue 7 done this month! (So is Barry. I think he's scripting the last few pages as we speak.)
