Postcards from the children's theater

On the other extreme, I also like bending reality for the newsletter:
Stuffies are alive in the Newsletter Cartoon Universe, but I think this is the first time an adult is seen interacting with one.
This next cartoon was in the back of my head for several months, inspired by two middle-aged techies leaning on the mezzanine wall:
The "Muppets in March" movie theme was the missing piece! I watched some "best of Statler and Waldorf" on YouTube to get an idea of how to muppet-ify my coworkers. Naomi came up with the specific heckling. My coworker Becca suggested splitting the dialogue between the two of them, rather than having one person say the line and one person laugh.
This also went through two different layouts. I originally envisioned a fuller view of the lobby.
But it didn't offer a detailed enough view of the muppets. Naomi suggested the final layout. Drawing Rachael and myself in close-up provided a better contrast between the human and muppet faces. Halfway through painting it I sent a photo to Barry like βIβve been looking at this too long, I need to hear that itβs pretty π β and he obliged. So this cartoon went through more hands than usual.
