I admit it. I ran out of time. I won’t get this cover done before I go out of town. ::sigh:: It felt kind of freeing to say it.
Since this is a “Jackie Ormes drawing” of Lillian and Captain Turtle, I’m going to use a fountain pen and do lots of cross-hatching and stippling. I’m excited to play around with different tools than usual (and to take some time to experiment, instead of trying to crank the illustration ASAP).
This was my day today:
We had a costume sale, and a costume giveaway, and there are still so many costumes.
The next step is figuring out what can be donated where. Some of our collection is regular stuff like sun dresses and boots. Sometimes there is a blurry line between “clothing” and “costume,” and I’m not sure I’m qualified to make the distinction.
When you’ve worked in a children’s theater long enough, you think “I would totally wear that”
“Hi kids, I’m just your friendly neighborhood character…yes, it has pockets”
Ok I can see why some of this stuff didn’t move at the sale.

2022-05-14 17:06:43 +0000 UTCRed Light on SE Hawthorne around 36th caters to the Burner crowd, so costumes work. Not sure though how many tiny(ish) costumes they need. Hmm... I would SO wear that purple one! (I'm already that crazy neighbor. If only I had a cat...or 20! ;-)
