As I was lost in random thoughts about Teamcraft, the roadmap and upcoming features, I realized that the next major version will be once a nice milestone will be reached: the Electron app !
What is electron?
Electron (https://electronjs.org/) is a library that allows to bring web applications to desktop, it's used by Discord, VSCode, Atom, Skype and many more known apps.
But why a desktop app?
The current application has a little issue with browsers. To have better performances, processes in background (tab not focused) are slown down, this means that if you have a notification (node alarms usually) while the tab is not focused, you might miss it, because the browser will skip it, thinking "meh, the tab isn't focused so whatever".
Desktop app could also bring in some nice new features (file system access so more things possible), and allows to use the app without a browser at all :)
I don't have a date set yet because this is experimental for now and at the moment it's working at ~80% :) I'll post more about beta tests, early app access, etc here.
