This is such a great setup episode because the story has had such quick build ups but I knew what would happen so I saved the two episode

They are straight up monsters in this show. Definitely the opposite of Frieren and her crew. It's an awesome dynamic.

Seriously every episode just blows us away!

Dang Himmel is more of a hero than I thought. I guess it's just because he has such a warm demeanor so far in the show. A new hero needs to step up and make sure the demons fear them as well.

“Little boy, I am stronger than your boss’s boss. But it’s cute that you think you’re a threat.” As a matter of fact, she helped kill his boss’s boss’s boss.

In the next 3 episodes you will get to see why Frieren. Stark and Fern are complete and utter bad asses. Especially Frieren.

This is my favorite arc in an anime in a long time.

So episodes 7, 8, 9, & 10 are one of my favorites as a compendium of this anime for its epicness. 🤯🧠💥

Fern and Stark are around 16-17 at this point in the story. Pretty sure Stark is around a year older than Fern

I absolutely love the nature of demons in this anime. The usual plot of "some demons can be swayed and eventually switch sides" is cool and all, but overused in my opinion. Seeing demons whose sole nature is creatures that evolved to prey on humans is refreshing. Because it's essentially another element in the foodchain, taking humanity's place as the apex predator. They don't hunt humans because of evil reasons, or because they want to control the world. They hunt them because of their natural instincts that have made them evolve enough to learn human speech, the best way nature has found to deceive humans. It's also why the little demon girl did not understand that she was in the wrong. She doesn't understand human concepts like family, bonds, and society. She grew up alone, not knowing what a family is, eventually learning that "mom" is a word that could help her survive. She didn't understand that humans attach importance to the lives they bring into the world, that parents love their children, that humans live in communities in which things like murder and theft are prohibited. She was still learning to adapt to deceive humans, and hit a wall because she rushed her learning process. Finally getting a plot where demons are just that - demons, that you can't negotiate with and are purely and simply enemies - gives the world even more depth than if it was the classic plot that allows some demons to become "good".

Now that Himmel had been dead for over 20 years the demons are starting to stir, that's how much they feared Himmel, even after the Demon King was defeated Himmel traveled around defeating more demons. Just as a reminder, the names of people and places are often German and Lugner can be translated as "Liar". 22:00 Oh its just beginning to ramp up the confrontation. There is no peace with demons.
