BLT is what I almost said in the video as my favorite. They always slap no matter what time of day! I like mine with a little bit of ranch too.

Dang those are some good sandwiches you have there. That roast beef and Philadelphia italian hoagie sounds awesome!! Hot dogs and pulled pork are totally my jam too. Got some great BBQ down here. My dad makes incredible brisket, we usually turn them into sandwiches too with the leftovers.

Dang that sandwich sounds awesome. Definitely gotta try that sometime. And yeah I feel that about ms dash and butter, my fam growing up went on a low sodium kick. But you're right though it wasn't bad at all.

I've never had vegemite before but I've definitely heard about it. Australian staple, I'm gonna have to try it some day!

great reaction

Cerulean Spectre

Baked potato with lots of butter , grated cheddar cheese, little dash of black pepper and sometimes just blow the restrictions and add a dollop of sour cream. BLT on toasted bread still my fav.

Yeah, it was the first emperor. The princess who loves parfaits and who was insisting that fruit and cream filled sandwiches are best is his granddaughter. So the master actually helped changed the course of the fledgling new empire. Meanwhile the emperor just wanted to be able to make croquettes back home lol.

Welp I just saw someone writing that little secret/fact about the potatoes so I guess it doesn't matter anymore.

So now I watched part of the episode and I am reminded of more things. I like lots of untoasted sandwiches, like tuna, egg salad, turkey, etc. Rye bread in particular I don't even like toasted. When I was little we didn't have Gorton's at our stores, so I was raised on Mrs. Paul's frozen fish and deviled crab. Fish sticks weren't yet a thing. I don't think I liked tuna much when I was a kid. My mom didn't cook fish either. When we had frozen fish, it was always accompanied with mac and cheese, with stewed tomatoes.

All this talk about potatoes made me think about why this story and another LN I'm reading make a big deal about potatoes, it seemed not to be a coincidence. I saw that potatoes was, as I thought, native to the New World, so the story of potatoes in Asia makes sense as a story of a relatively late-introduced crop that caught on as having certain advantages. I am guessing there are other stories elsewhere in the world, like Europe, but not so recent that you think of them as readily. ...... Favorite sandwich? Fairly mundane compared to some of the others mentioned, and which one is the best depends on how well it's made. So: Roast beef special (Roast beef on rye with coleslaw and Russian dressing); Philadelphia Italian hoagie (I'm from there-- I actually don't know all the meats, but there are usually four, including ham, capicola, salami (I think Genoa), lettuce, tomato, onion, oil, and provolone cheese, with a Kosher pickle); Philly pizza (mozzarella and pizza sauce) steak sandwich with fried onions and green peppers, toasted in an oven; the BLT (with mayo); and basic grilled American and/or cheddar cheese, also good with tomato and/or ham. When I was a kid I visited a friend's house and the mother put thyme on the grilled cheese, which was actually pretty yummy. I also like hamburgers, hot dogs, pulled pork, and sloppy joes. And aren't tacos sort of a sandwich? Sorry, I went overboard.

Fun fact in the light novel they explain that the one kingdom was facing starvation back when the chef was a little boy and the king was a regular at the restaurant one day the boy brought a school project where he show that potatoes grow in all kinds of weather and soil plus that they propagate quickly.. so secretly he bought some potatoes from the kid and brought them across the door .. he saved his kingdom and changed the name ... that is why they look and taste the same because he literally let the other guy bring them over the other world.. I t h ink it was the grandfather of the girl that eats clouds...lol

Mountain pies (pepporoni, cheese and sauce made in a sandwich maker on an open fire) is my favorite.

Potatoes were an afterthought on vessels for sauces?!? Did y’all both forget about french fries?!?!

I love steamed potatoes but dietary restrictions mean I don't get to eat them very often anymore. And the same restrictions strictly limit my salt intake so I use Mrs. Dash and lite butter. It isn't quite the same but it is still very good. And my favorite sandwich is a reuben on rye, followed closely by a grilled cheese meatloaf sandwich on sourdough bread with provolone cheese, mayo instead of butter, a sliced tomato, arugula, lettuce and onions.

Vegemite and cheese sandwich, Australian staple.

Aletta's horns are growing out of her head. My favorite sandwich is actually kind of different. I grew up on a reservation and I am native american. So one of my fav dish is a wild rice hotdish served with frybread. I would take the frybread and break it in half where I would open it up and stuff in the hotdish and eat that. Frybread is also called Navajo bread if you decide to look it up. It opens up like a flat bread after being cut in half. I don't remember if the anime itself will show something about Cobbler's Tubers (Potatoes). It is a secret to why they are the same on both worlds and so I don't want spoil it if it does show up. I mean it isn't a huge thing and is just something that is interesting to know. So if you don't care I can tell you, but I am not putting it in this post just incase. I personally learned it from the manga.
