I am glad to hear it. Btw, which one of you is the person doing the reading, liking, or replying? Is there any way to tell?

I think it's safe to say that we are in this anime for the long haul. All season and all movies that drop for sure. I personally I don't mind less action when there's so much world building and relationships to advance. I like all the characters and their interactions with each other and the world around them. On top of the fact that there is a good amount of humor in this show as well. It's understandable that it might not be others cup of tea or they fall off because of less action. But overall I haven't felt that way about slime yet.

It's interesting. I'm watching another Creator who is at the same point that you are in reacting to Slime, but it looks like he is about to drop it. He says he isn't enjoying it. Just so you know, I hope you will continue to react to Slime, but only if you aren't forcing it. I realize Season 3 isn't for everyone. (I would argue that the first part of the season is the worst part for a lot of people. It does pick up later somewhat, but not everyone agrees with that.) In fact, I think, like most fans, that Season 4 will be better, even much better, but I think the real hype will be for Season 5. I worry that Season 4 will be overhyped, but maybe that's just me. Most people use the argument that Season 3 is just focused differently, that Season 4 will be different, and you need Season 3 to setup for Season 4, but if Season 4 doesn't deliver enough, we may never see the (truly hype-worthy) Season 5. I live for Season 5 to be animated!

Rimuru is a relationship-making machine. There's a whole lot more I could say about this, but I will wait to see if there's a better time.

Seriously thank you for all these in depth comments. I read every one of them. That whole part about Veldora and Rimuru's connection is very cool and eye opening in the sense of why Veldora is the way he is now. I really love that soul corridor bond they have. Him not having to worry about losing his memories anymore must be such a huge weight lifted off of him.

The Heck Podcast

I 100% agree. The charm of this show plays a lot into the fact that Rimuru could be a destroyer but chooses to use his power to protect and be more on the wholesome end of the spectrum. Not to mention the relationships that develop along the way.

While I can understand that some people don't like calm episodes like this one in which there's almost nothing happening, I think that Slime handles that really well. Rimuru not only building a nation, but using his knowledge and memories of our world to help the people of that world make tremendous technological advances is just so fascinating. There's actually a reason why that world isn't more advanced, and while some hints about why that is have been sprinkled in previous episodes, it'll be explained more clearly in the future. I also like how Rimuru keeps underestimating the strength of his own people because he cares about them and doesn't want them getting hurt. His top-ranked monsters, like Diablo, the Onis, Ranga, Geld, Gabiru or even possibly Gobta, are more powerful than most nations and adventurers out there, and that's mostly thanks to Rimuru's own power that allowed them all to evolve into more powerful beings. It's interesting to realize that, had Rimuru been interested in more sinister ways of doing things, or been interested in actually conquering other nations, it would be a cinch for his army, but he has been able to instead create a safe and friendly nation that doesn't use its tremendous power for anything other than defending themselves and their allies.

Some of the major points include: There are multiple factions working behind the scenes; they may have different goals, sometimes they're on the same page and sometimes not. They tend to do their own thing and their goal is not necessarily to have anything to do with destroying Tempest, at least not all the time. Which means you might not always know why they're doing something, it may not have anything to do with you, or not much. The merchants’ only goal may be just simply to profit off of any war that might break out no matter who the combatants are. As for Diablo and Falmuth, Diablo is trying to set up something where the church won't get involved and the civil war is accelerated so that the whole situation can be resolved sooner. I don't know exactly what he was doing in order to accelerate it, though maybe that's in a future episode or maybe it's something I forgot. Tempest tried to figure out if anyone was planning anything against them for the near future, but I think the answer was inconclusive: yes, because they don’t know who all the masterminds are, and what their goals are, it’s possible something will happen. Even though left to their own devices, it wouldn’t be logical for the church, specifically Hinata, to make a move against them right now, it’s possible that some kind of outside influence would instigate a response from her. She only takes orders from Luminus, it was said, but some of the things that could motivate her are revenge, protection of the faithful, support of the the anti-monster doctrine, and the talk about Tempest possibly hastening the angels' attack. Tempest is still awaiting Hinata's response to what happened so far, the message crystal Rimuru sent via Reyhiem. Best to be prepared. Also there was a lot of talk about technology and they specifically focused on the technology of the barriers in the road. I think the main point of including this information is to show that Tempest is bringing technology to the world. They're trying to solve a problem of having too many magicules, brought about by a moderately high concentration of monsters in one place, but also they're trying to protect the road from attack. If they want people to actually travel along the road, they need to assure them that it is safe to do so now. So the magic generator will put up a barrier which will consume magicules which will not only prevent monsters from encroaching upon the road and attacking travelers, but it will also reduce the number and strength of monsters that are spawned in the first place. In addition it will serve as a magicule storage battery, Rimuru’s Stomach is the space inside him that is part of the Skill Beelzebub. Veldora is quieter than before, as far as I understand it, mainly because of living inside Rimuru for so long. At times he was able to observe the outside world and see how Rimuru handled situations. He also talked things over with Ifrit, who isn’t exactly mature himself, but they did learn a few things together. Reading manga also helped, actually. In addition, when Veldora was released from the Unlimited Imprisonment (seal, barrier, dimension), Raphael created the Skill Veldora for Rimuru. Along with that Skill, a soul corridor between Rimuru and Veldora was created. Because Veldora’s memories are being dynamically updated as a copy in Rimuru’s soul, Veldora no longer has to worry about dying, which sometimes happened in the past. When he died, his memories were lost, and only his basic personality remained. It meant he never really had a chance to learn from his mistakes, and because he was a force of nature with a will, and that force of nature was a storm, it was natural for him to rampage. If he dies again, he can be recalled immediately with his memories intact, as long as Rimuru is alive. In addition, because Veldora feels great loyalty as a friend and equal to Rimuru, he admires him, and listens to him. Although sometimes Rimuru has to appeal to his ego, or bribe him, deep down, he doesn’t want to do anything that would really upset Rimuru. I don’t know of this was explicitly mentioned before, but after Rimuru became a Demon Lord, all the kijin evolved to (fair) oni. Shion evolved to a different specific type, wicked oni. It doesn’t mean she’s wicked, per se, but more wild, I would say. Oni is the top end of that evolutionary path, but don’t worry, it doesn’t mean they can’t get stronger. Remember when Kaijin mentioned Hinata would probably only take the orders of Luminus, Veldora, reading manga on the couch, took notice. This will be more important later. Btw, the person who is Guy’s friend isn’t Violet, it’s Velzard, the Ice Dragon.

same i try very hard not to spoil anything too

Cerulean Spectre

i have dm you guys on patreon some slime lore zero spoilers

Cerulean Spectre

I try VERY hard not to spoil or give out information I know will pop up in a future episode. It helps the anime cuts plenty from the LNs and the manga, so I usually have a bit of leeway with info drops. I'm personally ambivalent to spoilers, but I know that they prefer to watch it all fresh and as blind as possible. I just really want them to have as much fun as I do when I consume this series! 💗

LaLa

I’m so glad you comment on my fav anime they cover because I read the light novels and always feel like I’m spoiling 😂

Kcosta

They had announced Season 4 and a new movie just after Season 3 ended. I thought you knew. 😶 The release date is news to me though!

LaLa

Love that John actually recognized Yuki as the president dude, thumbs up for that homie

You know, you two really hit on the important part of this episode: the calm happening is not calm, it's unnerving. -The ability to create tension when seemingly nothing malicious is happening is what I really appreciate about this anime. They can have everything be really happy and bright, but during all of it your gut is screaming at you. Masterful. -John you pointed out that they haven't been doing nothing while Rimuru and crew went to war. It's a really important quality of Tempest that I personally find really important this season. The way the story weaves it's easy to be lulled into thinking they are growing lax. So keep an eye on all the Tempest players, Rimuru isn't interested in his nation falling due to incompetence. - I'm not sure I'd equate 'mellow' and Veldora. He has shown a great restraint however, so definitely growth. Who knew all it would take is 300 years alone in a dark cave with a barrier leaching his magicules from him, and a slime with empathy? 😅 -So many possible enemies, so many different angles they can attack from. Yeah, you pretty much nailed it. All the different factions are as diverse as they are interesting. Hinata's group is also entering the fray. FUN. 😶‍🌫️ -Lots information and lots of wheels turning, just another Tuesday in Tempest. 😆 Have fun at your concert John! I hope you don't get caught up in the winter storm on the way back, I know my area had a 5-10 inch snow warning. Like we haven't had enough already this winter! 😑 🩷💛🩵

LaLa

Love that slime is green lit! That’s actually new news to me! Ohhhhhh this story is gonna keep getting better!
