Little Update!

Hey folks,

Happy (belated) New Year!

I've been meaning to make a check in post like this for a bit. Heck - I even intended to my "favorite things of the year" post but life has been quite busy. I always enjoy doing a little reflection on the year so maybe I'll get a free moment to do it in the coming months...

I am currently on a pretty tight deadline in the final stretch of working on my graphic novel. As of the end of November, I finished inking the whole book (235 pages!) and I am now colouring it for a March deadline. Doing the math, I have to get about 3 pages finished a day in order to hit my deadline. I've been aiming for 5 a day, unfortunately including weekends, in order to leave time to do the Blind Alley Sunday strips (this months will come before the end of the month I swear) and to leave a bit of wiggle room for other projects. It sounds kinda dour when I lay it out like this but frankly there's never been a better time for me to absolutely no-life working on a comic haha. I don't recommend this lifestyle it so don't think this is an endorsement or some sort of humble-brag; I am very tired and the urge to lie down in the grass and be consumed by moss is strong.

Anyways - come spring, I am thinking of doing relaunch, of sorts, for the Patreon. Obviously, I want to respect everyone who has subscribed with their current tier rewards so I'll be fulfilling all subscription benefits prior to the relaunch. In particular, expect a post about opting into this round of the pen pal rewards with your drawings in the spring. 

I am incredibly grateful that my patreon has grown enough that I have to do a bit of a rework. Unfortunately the pen pal and the free book reward, moving forward, will have to be nixed as we've hit numbers where it's no longer a sustainable amount of work alongside Blind Alley, my graphic novels, and having a life outside of work.

The things that will absolutely remain: Blind Alley Sunday strips, access to downloads of all of my self published work, discounts in my seasonal shop, and exclusive previews of bigger projects. 

So, regarding the future rewards: I'd love to have your input as to what you'd like to see from this patreon! I want to know what makes a subscription feel valuable to you. 

Some options: patron only live-drawing streams (drawing folks requests)? Tutorials? Sketchbook peek? Q&A's? I am considering making a goal to aim for doing Blind Alley three times a week but we'll see how my workload looks in the spring.
