They are pointing out that the watch is clearly designed because there are some visual indicators that separate it from something that was a product of nature. But there is no visual indicator that leads us to think that the universe was not a product of nature; that it is a supernatural product. We have no other *known* supernatural products from which we can draw indicators that would lead us to conclude that the universe bears similar hallmarks of supernatural creation, and therefore it looks like a supernatural creator made it.
We can compare the watch to other human-made things and see that it looks like humans made it, but we can't do anything like that kind of comparison with the universe, so that's an absurd line of deductive reasoning.
Not only that, but humans can design things that look completely, 100% natural. Ray Comfort's banana is a good example. So using the "it looks designed, therefore it is designed" reasoning is completely fallacious.
As far as the problem of evil/suffering is concerned, they are just doing what they do best: gaslighting. Blame it all on the non-omnipotent mortals to protect the omnipotent, immortal god. If heaven has no suffering then the Earth could also have no suffering.
