And yeah the Satoru form was a little jarring at first but since it worked in the context I was fine with it ha. I just kinda lent it to how smart Rimuru is in general that he can whip something out of his back pocket like that on the fly.

When I first saw this episode I was a little upset that they seemed to spring that Satoru form on us rather suddenly. Yes, you can make a case for Rimuru being able to do that knowing his Skills, but you never did see him use it before, even when it would have been convenient. I can think of all kinds of times when it would seemingly have been better if he did use it. So why didn't he use it? Well, you could say, for meta reasons, that the writer didn't write it in until now. But if you want to consider these episodes canon, consistent with the mainstream story, you have to assume there's some rationalization. Maybe he was dedicated to honoring Shizu. Maybe, he didn't want to expend extra energy maintaining this form that probably is less energy-efficient. (But black smoke is supposed to appear whenever he has to use ambient magicules to make a form larger than his natural one, and they didn't show that happening.) Anyway, I have decided to accept Rimuru can do this. Even though he changed his voice. And somehow came up with different clothes that fit.

When figuring out how to pronounce "English" words, you have to take into account how they would normally pronounce English sounds that don't normally appear in Japanese. Thus, th is rendered as z, and -er is rendered as a long -ah. So, Sou-, here sounds like Sou- in South. Sau-zah 「サウザ―」 (katakana) is actually what they are saying, and how it was written. Except they are trying to approximate -th- and -er, so, in English, South-er. I hope that made sense. You kind of have to take a leap of logic to get there, which is what the translator did already. That's why you've seen different versions of non-Japanese names when translated. Why Eren can be Elen, Thalion can be Sarion, etc.
