Also, the term ‘conspiracy theory’ or ‘conspiracy theorist’ has been, what i call ‘weaponized’. Scientists and other professionals are terrified of having this label applied to them or their work. Think about it, if something has that label on it, people will tend to dismiss it. Merely mentioning this here, i run the risk of being labeled myself. Oh well; I’m a boomer. So that means I am beyond caring what people think of me. Just be aware, that’s all I’m saying. And no, I’m not a conspiracy theory person. Dammit, where’s my tin hat?

Religion is included, but mostly as an institution, an appendix to the state, and this group probably feels the same about that issue. If you're interested, Dan Olson did a great video essay on the cinematics of propaganda, analyzing the "documentary" Triumph of the Will, directed by Leni Riefenstahl (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jJ1Qm1Z_D7w). Which, in reality is a piece of propaganda. Also, I highly recommend the classic book by Erich Fromm, "Escape from Freedom" (it's on Amazon, in every format). It focuses on the dichotomy or paradox that pushes man to choose to belong -a political party, certain dogmatic religion etc.- instead of freedom. And this is considering all the factors that surrounds an individual, like politics or class in combination with the psychology of both man and/or, say, a figure a cult of personality is created around -insert your dictator/oompa loompa president of choice.
